Title: Use Your Illusion error
Post by: WhatIsItMan on March 01, 2006, 06:11:53 PM
Has this ever been discussed?  I bought this at Wal-Mart right when it came out.  It has 13 tracks listed, with 'So Fine' included.  'So Fine' is not on this disc, either print-wise, or audio-wise.  Has this ever been brought to attention before?

Yea there was totally mistakes. At the time at least, the label and inserts were wrong. If I remember, it was reversed like, UYI 1 was really 2 and 2 was one. Fuckin weird shit.

He's talking about the "Use Your Illusion" CD that Walmart and Kmart sell because they don't sell explicit music.

Yeah, I have that disc and I remember now that "So Fine" wasn't on it even though it's listed on the back.  I actually had that before I had Use Your Illusion I and II.

Could everyone please specify which CD you're talking about now?

Since 4 separate discs have been mentioned now, I don't know who's talking about which.  :(

My Live era Paradise City skips......i have gotten used to it.

The whole first batch of american Live Era's has that skip. At the time, it was even speculated on that the error was deliberate, because of the "Las Ve.....Las Vegas thing".....

I guess the first poster is talking about the Use Your Illusion collection that was released in 1998.

i allways thought of it as a lame way to gain record slaes and a non explicit way for casual fans to get some songs. lol it was my first greatest hits by them

In Live Era, the end of Paradise City was backwards (except for the edited version of the disc) and lots of people thought it was done on purpose.  Certain things in the booklet were also reversed.  It was fixed, so if you have one of those early versions of Live Era, it might be worth holding onto.

I remember talking to the guy who thought Axl had hidden a special message in the reversal, saying "Fight the good fight, he is right, Tina's the girl."  It was something about his sister being murdered, and a conspiracy involving Axl Rose.  He wrote an entire online book about it called "The Illusion: Building the Perfect Beast."

I think the real mistake was that "So Fine" ever appeared on any version of UYI.  ;)

Wow surprised they didn't put "You could be mine" (edit out if neccisary) on that cd since it was like the best rock track off UYI.

But yeh the non-studio stuff from bands have errors all the time, its not unusal because there not properly checked.
