Title: one in a million/you're crazy(which version?)/anything goes
Post by: speed_stone on February 27, 2006, 09:57:46 AM
hey folks. i know this has been discussed before at this board but, i just wanted to hear what y'all think about this song. personally i think it's a very personal and good song, i've liked it ever since it came out, despite the controversies. i mean when he lashes out at different groups it's just his reaction to certain people, a "small town white boy"'s perception of things, and it's not attacks at entire groups of people. i guess i'm just sick of people bashing this song. i heard axl wanted to remove it from future issues of Lies and that's his choice but personally i think it's a good song, regardless of the views in it.

the second song i wanted to discuss for the first time in years is anything goes. how come i never hear this song mentioned anywhere? i liked it ever since i was a little kid, even at the age of 7-9 i found the lyrics to be exciting and the song in itself to be energizing and fun to listen to. i believe this is the most overlooked appetite track, and i don't think it lacks the quality of the rest of the tracks either. anything goes is a good track, and helps make appetite the complete and perfect album that it is.

thirdly, which version of you're crazy do you prefer, the appetite or the gnr lies one? personally i enjoy both but if i had to choose i'd probably pick the lies version. the emotion put into it is just so cool, i like the acoustic take on this energetic song. well that's all for now i guess, fun to be back posting again, it's been a while. :smoking:

i think this should be in dead horse. Now, on topic.

OIAM is a class song. Anything goes is crap in comparison to the Hollywood Rose version and the Guns N' Roses demo version. Its a tough choice for anything goes between the GN'R demo version and the Hollywood Rose. The hollywood rose is fast, funky and energising. the GN'R demo has cheap and catchy rhythm and lyrics. i love the you're crazy acoustic best.

OIAM was one of the songs that got me into liking GN'R. And seriously what is wrong with saying? "Immigrants and faggots they make no sense to me" that's what 90% of people are thinking Axl just said it out loud.

lol true but also axl was just pissed at some people and he explained that, he even apologized to those who might have taken offense, but he still had the balls to release it and i admire him for that, that's axl rose
