Title: Paradise City demo, evolution.
Post by: Where is Hassan Nasrallah ? on January 23, 2006, 10:07:39 AM
Paradise City Demo just popped on winamp a few minutes ago.
and as you might know it, the song starts directly with the drum beats, and quickly goes to the first solo.

So i guess they decided to make an intro afterwards ? and we all love the intro ....
so who decides such things ? did the record company listened to the demo and advised GNR to add a little intro to it ?
was the intro part of the song already, but just not on the demo yet .... ?

wierd.

Well,as a songwriter,I think they probably wrote the intro after they did the demo,I mean because when you do the demos, sometimes you'll be sitting there listening and say something like"Hey,you know I have an idea for an intro"The record company really never says much about that, but with GN'R you never know :peace:

Maybe its the producer (Mike Clink, I guess). I would say he, along with band of course, changed some songs. Listen to the Rocket Queen Demos, the ending is very different, even if Axl's vocal and Slash solo is almos identical. Nightrain were slower and SCOM had some spanish-like solo in the outro.

I read that Slash 'wrote' the intro for Paradise City in the very early days of Gn'R, but they added it to the song afterwards.. I dont know who decided it, but I respect that guy :hihi:
