Title: Albums you're looking forward to in 2006 Post by: metallex78 on December 19, 2005, 06:00:13 PM It seems as though a few of the big name bands are looking to release new albums next year, here's a few that I'm really looking forward to:
AC/DC Audioslave Godsmack Jerry Cantrell (this one has been a long time coming!) Metallica Motley Crue Pearl Jam Screaming Jets Tool Velvet Revolver And of course Chinese Democracy, if 2006 is the year... Title: Re: Albums you're looking forward to in 2006 Post by: Izzy on December 19, 2005, 06:08:29 PM Can't say i'm looking forward to any bands new release, as each year passes I find i look further and further back for quality. Bands like ac/dc, Metallica and Motley Crue are never going to make music that matched what they once did.
Title: Re: Albums you're looking forward to in 2006 Post by: RichardNixon on December 19, 2005, 06:11:23 PM I didn't know a new Jerry Cantrell was in the works. LOVED his last one.

Bands like ac/dc, Metallica and Motley Crue are never going to make music that matched what they once did. Well Metallica still keep me interested in the fact that they don't do what everyone expects them too, and I've still enjoyed the albums they've put over the last few years. AC/DC seem to be taking their time on this new album, so maybe we'll get some good quality AC/DC rock again, and Motley Crue are back working on an album with the original line-up, so it'll be interesting to see what they put out too. Title: Re: Albums you're looking forward to in 2006 Post by: metallex78 on December 19, 2005, 06:15:27 PM Yeah, I forgot that Pearl Jam are puting out a new album next year too, that's another one I'm looking forward to.

I hope the band dig deep into their creativity, I'm one of the few Motley Crue fans who really liked the directions they took on their 1994 self-titled effort and Generation Swine. Title: Re: Albums you're looking forward to in 2006 Post by: metallex78 on December 19, 2005, 07:36:58 PM I didn't know a new Jerry Cantrell was in the works. LOVED his last one. Yeah, there haven't been any recent updates from him, but I've read over the last year that he's working on some new music which is said to be his best ever. I thought Degradation Trip was great too. Yeah, they spent July and August this year recording in a studio in Melbourne (there's photos of them in the studio on their website) and they were gonna mix the album in September/October. I think the band want to release the album sometime early next year though. They debuted some of the new songs live at some of the gigs they played this year and the new songs sound great, I think it'll be an awesome rock album. I think they're trying to shorten that cycle by writing and recording while they're touring. Another thing is I think they still have a bulk of songs left over from their writing sessions for Out Of Exile. Quote In regards to the Pumpkins--- I read an article on MTV.com that said Corgan and Chamberlan are definately on board. It is unclear whether Iha or Darcy are gonna be back in the fold at this point. Auf de Marr (joined after Darcy left in 2000) was quoted as saying she doesn't know what the situation is, but she is willing to rejoin. Anyway, Billy has been writing "pumpkin-like material" for a few months now and might be ready to start recording soon (?).
