Title: Re: Who misses the 90s? Post by: Buddy J.B. on November 30, 2005, 09:25:03 PM I wasn't into the music , but I liked being a kid back then. There were great movies back then , that's when Adam Sandler's classics were born like Happy Gilmore,Wedding Singer, Billy Madison. Mike Myer's? Austin Powers? was great too. I think the best part of the 90's were the late years, like 97-99.

Post by: jameslofton29 on November 30, 2005, 11:09:54 PM I really miss the early-mid 90's. It was my care free drug use period. Partying all the time, listening to some of the greatest albums ever made. Like they say: Dont know what you got til its gone. :smoking:
Title: Re: Who misses the 90s? Post by: Walk on November 30, 2005, 11:42:52 PM I miss the time when black metal and death metal were almost 100% innovative genres, with almost no bands sounding quite like others. So, the early 90's. Varg was thrown in prison for murder, and there was no Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth to water down the music for the mallcore kiddies. Ian Stuart died in a mysterious car accident (conspiracy!?!). Cannibal Corpse was a minor annoyance, and not a plague on the scene yet. Deicide was still good. It was all new, scary, and powerful. Of course, Marilyn Manson was scary then, so that's not saying much. :hihi:
School shootings were the in thing. Columbine was all over the news for weeks. These days, that Weiss kid, the native American nazi, shot up the school and got about 2 days of press. This kind of violence isn't as shocking as it used to be. Even Clinton's sex life was shocking. It's not like that anymore; we're even more desensitized now. We've just descended farther into postmodernity and our values continue to erode. Title: Re: Who misses the 90s? Post by: Sterlingdog on December 01, 2005, 09:20:18 PM I miss my somewhat irresponsible and slightly slutty late teens/early 20's. So I miss the 90's for that reason. And I miss the music of the early 90's and having Clinton in office.
Title: Re: Who misses the 90s? Post by: Buddy J.B. on January 01, 2006, 02:27:09 AM I would die just to go back to the 90's, I'm talking like 97-99, those three years of my life kicked ass.

Post by: makane on January 02, 2006, 10:17:49 AM IMO the only band that really made an impact in 80's were Guns N' Roses, otherwise the music from 80's haven't lived up to this day, unlike music from 60's & 70's...
The 90's... well, not much of music I like from there either, ofcourse GN'R and I guess STPs made it well in the 90's too... Title: Re: Who misses the 90s?
