Title: Internet dating
Post by: Eric on July 30, 2005, 08:36:00 AM
Was wondering if anyone here ever tried online dating (match.com, harmony)-I tried match.com a few years ago-interesting, don't know if I will ever try it again-had some fun dates, some really bad ones, and so on.

I agree with you, girls on Internet sometimes are ugly, but trust me you can find someone very interesting and beautiful at the same time, I'm trying this page Hi5.com and I have a few pretty girls  : ok:

I haven't tried one of those matchmaker type sites, but, my hubby and I did meet online, and we've been together now  nearly 6 years.  :)

but why do that online, while you can just go outside and find girls.
especially in the usa, where girls are a lot friendlier and open minded (sexually talking ;))
i mean, here in france you dont really go and talk to random girls, it's wierd and you'll look like a classless looser.
but in the us, come on, it's so easy to talk with strangers. that"'s the cool thing with you country: people are nice.

Its like this WatEver

in my town, 99 percent of the girls are trick ass bitches.

Its all about who u are what u look like, what kind of car u drive how much money u got etc etc

and they still cheat on u.

I had GF's where I lived that I didnt trust a bit but my Girl 200 miles away never gives me any worries.

sometimes u gotta get out of your area to find the match to your soul, its not always where u live thats how it was for me.

whats the difference in meeting a girl in a bar and they giving u their phone number and u call them and hit it off and meeting a girl in a chat room or a message board, and talking and hitting it off?

none i can see.

I would say it's very specific to Paris. It's pretty different in other cities (toulouse, montpelier, nantes) where people are way more sympathic and natural. Indeed, parisian girls are quite distant and not very talkative/friendly. But it's like that in Paris, altough I love it (it's my city), this is a cold city in term of human relashionships. Frozen.?

The typicall bad temper and never satisfied parisian mentallity is extremely famous. When you go to holidays and suddenly come back in the parisian metro and see people's face, it's shocking. Nobody smiles!

come on, smile ?:)

Well... let's see, when I met my hubby, I was living in Southern California, where most of the men are COMPLETELY SELF-CENTERED BASTARDS. ?I dated a few of those, and found that they really weren't my type. ? My husband was so completely different than the guys in California. ?The internet opens up a whole new world of people to you -- not just geeks or 'fuglies' -- but people with which you may actually share something in common ?other than immediate sexual attraction.

To say that "all internet chicks" are ugly is a terrible stereotype by which to rule your life. ?These days, nearly everyone has a computer and even the pretty people know how to access the internet... it's not just for geeks anymore. ? :hihi:

Also two important things that about your story, that we always forget.

1) You weren't here to pick up chicks on this site.

2) you weren't trying.

That is when you will meet a girl.

Internet sites, clubs, whatever....may work sometimes.

But I always seem to find women, when I wasn't trying, and not looking....

Correct me if I'm wrong.

SLC:  You are correct, when I met my hubby, I was not looking.  LOL -- I met him in a CHRISTIAN chat room while the both of us were ripping on the Christians.  Not exactly the place I envisioned I would meet the man of my dreams.  Or even my hubby.   :hihi:

Generally speaking, when you are looking, that is when you're going to find the women who are exactly like you -- women who are LOOKING.  It's when you aren't looking that you find people you're  most compatable with, on and off line.

But I always seem to find women, when I wasn't trying, and not looking....
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Although it is true in most cases it's the opposite for me. If I don't do anything or trying a bit it doesn't work. If I try, I always have more chances.

I think there's a difference between the "we met each other somewhere on the Internet" and "I've found someone randomly on chat".  The second one seems to me very faceless, too much of cold.
I think that going to chat to find a girl is a little weird, that it is for those (men mainly) who aren't really good with their communication skills (for approaching girls of course).
I'm not saying that I am the best on that by saying this above. Just my opinion.

I think most of the times people leaving date-ads are just plain ugly or total psychos.

I've tried internet dating, more out of curiosity than any thing else.

1) I went on a drive with a girl who was into weightlifting

Think about it

She gave me her phonenumber but I never called her, sure she was nice enough
But she was scary, she was stronger than me? :nervous:

2) My second try was with blond girl, who tried to boss me, and wanted to move with in me after a our third or fourth date. I told her it wasn't going to work and she was really hurt since she had all ready spend over a hundred euros on me.? :hihi: After that I got very entertaining text messages from her "you still make me feel like shit". She sms'd me for weeks.

After that I didn't bother looking the ads, but replied to one when bored at work, only seeking someone to talk to. I was having a party two weeks from that and she was being in the neighborhood, so she stopped by. I met her again next day, now we've been living together for the summer and she's moving back to her folks for a two months.

I agree to SLC that finding the right woman isn't going to happen if looking. If I have been looking my "relationships" have lasted from that one night to few weeks.

Donnie's Journey (Caught in the World Wide Web of Love)

There once was a guy from Kentucky
who one day was feeling quite lucky.
So he PM'd this girl
and then what unfurled
well, one might say he was lucky.

She really was quite independent,
but they both soon became co-dependent
on each other's big boobs
which affected their moods
to the point of the present engagement.

haha...

Sorry guys (and gals) but that's the absolute best I got right now. But tell you what, I promise to write a decent poem for ye. Deal?

EDIT - italics baby!

hahahahaha that poem was hmmmmmmmmm interesting

I wrote this in 3 minutes off my head, yeah Im a poet and now u know it!

                           "MCT"

MCT is a guy that walks his dog in the yard
loves staring at D's boobs nothing makes him more hard
He finishes every sentence with a bunch of little dots
and his introspective quotes leaves your mind tied in knots

His feud with SLC got out of hand and ran a little too deep
Now those guys like each other as much as Kujo loves sheep *thats alot*
MCT is a great guy and he will always be my bro
even though he is gay and likes to wear womens clothes

So I hope this poem has entertained and has sunk deep into your brain
For MCT is a great guy he's just twisted and insane

Goodbye my here today gone to hell friends this poem has been fun
but now this shit is over, sorry I gotta run!
