Title: The Datsuns Post by: Jamie on July 17, 2005, 05:46:53 PM The Datsuns are a classic RnR band from New Zealand. They supported VR for some of their tour and have so far two albums out, their self-titled debut and "Out of Sight, Out of Mind".
For any of those who have not heard them I highly recommend them. For those who have, your thoughts? Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: ClintroN on July 17, 2005, 05:54:27 PM The Datsuns are ROCK N' ROLL!!! :smoking:

They just need to get a new singer : ok: Although I think their singer/bassist is great, even if he wasn't it's highly unlikely they'd get rid of him, they're all brothers so I doubt they'd dump their own brother! Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: Irish rose on July 18, 2005, 09:56:51 AM saw them support Vr in Dublin, I thought they were excellent! I love "sittin pretty"
Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: purplehaze1988 on July 18, 2005, 10:28:37 AM They're not like The Strokes, Jet etc are they, because I quite enjoyed their performance at VR but I haven't bought their albums cos I presumed they were another wannabe-70s band.
Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: Butch Français on July 18, 2005, 01:15:16 PM Ive heard nothing but good things about them.
Ive only heard a few songs, and I loved them. so Im gonna get their albums! :peace: Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: Is he struggling? on July 18, 2005, 02:59:02 PM Saw them opening for VR in Hammersmith last January. Good fun, but I thought their attempts to 'rock out' seemed a bit false.
Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: ClintroN on July 19, 2005, 12:12:03 AM is every rockband thats out today gonna get labelled wannabes just cause they keep it real........hey, its better then todays bullshit.

Title: Re: The Datsuns Post by: Drew on July 20, 2005, 08:29:36 PM I saw them open for VR in Birmingham(11/5/2004). I just couldn't find a vibe with them. They didn't play that long of a set anyways.

Although they have a distinct 70s style, they're definitely not wannabes. They even have high approval of John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, arguably THE 70s band, he produced and played a small bit of keyboard on their second album. They were boring at first but as they went on the rocked. I dont know what album i heard by them but i remember it being fairly decent. |
