If memory serves me correctly, the only GNR-Stones duet was the time Axl and Izzy performed 'Salt of the Earth' with them.

No, because it's been officially released on Gilby's "Pawnshop Guitars" album.

'Fraid not. I had this mp3 too, but close listening shows that it is in fact the Gilby Clarke Pawnshop Guitars version with Axl duetting that some idiot has put on the filesharing services under the wrong name. Sorry!

A GREAT cover anyway you slice it.  That is some damn good rock n roll.

Got to agree, PhillyRiot. A great song, and a great cover version of it

A great song. A great cover. By the way, does anyone do a cover better than GnR? And another question, is there any GnR cover that you think was better as the original? The only one I've ever found that was better was Heartbreak Hotel. Just liked Elvis' version better. Back to the topic, there are at least two recordings of Dead Flowers out there, probably alot more. I have an audio and video recording of this song. The audio is better, though. (On a side topic, the video of Salt of the Earth is really great, even if Mick doesn't seem too enthusiastic about "Axl and Izzy from Guns N Roses").

Does Axl have a silk upholstered chair? ... I'm sure he knows some rich folks.

the chords to Used to Love Her and Dead Flowers are almost identicle.  That is a Stones influenced song.

i've got live versions of both 'dead flowers' and 'honky tonk woman' from Milton Keynes Bowl, England 1993. they played both these songs with Ronnie Wood.......not the whole stones, but one of them! axl says 'honky tonk woman' is a song "even Ronnie doesn't know!"
at that gig they also did a great version of 'November Rain' with just Axl on piano and Slash on acoustic guitar.

i'll try and put them up if anyone wants them.

Please do, I have Dead Flowers but the quality sucks. My daughter loves that mp3 I would love to have one that didn't sound like ass.

I was very surprised how good Axl sounded on that song.  He sounds much better than he does on the Illusion DVDs.

I think Sympathy for the Devil is much better done by the Stones.
But basically most covers of GNR are great!  : ok:

Apart from SFTD, all of GN'R's covers were excellent. Although my favourite is Gilby Clarke's 'Wild Horses' guitar solo (it's also my all-time favourite guitar solo).

1st question: as a gnr fan I don't think so

2nd one : Sympathy for the Devil is brilliant!
