Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I just bought a book to help me with reading music , i have a guitar teacher helping me with timing and theory right now. After 2 and a half years of playing guitar I at least know I want to stick to the instrument the rest of my life. My influence is Led Zeppelin and others. So how long will it take me to understand sheet music if I learn it step by step? If you guitarists know how to please share your experiences. thanks. :peace: For a year I took half-assed lessons by a shit teacher , I had no idea what I had to learn. He just lured money out of my pocket teaching me songs of my favorite bands.Then I stopped going to him, for a while i tought myself scales and how to figure out triads before I started taking lessons by this current teacher.

Learning to read music isn't hard at all.

The hard part is knowing the fretboard, being able to look at a sheet of music and spending less than five five minutes just working out how to play one bar.

Which is where I'm up to.

Fuck sheet music. Learn ur scale patterns and improve ur speed.

understand music sheets... 5 minutes (several symbols for different notes and silences times, pentagram for setting a note... that's all)

read complicate music sheets at the same time you're playing them... that requires lots of practising
