Title: coolest bands of all time
Post by: D on January 19, 2005, 05:36:39 AM
this thread is about the coolest bands

dont have to be the best or anything, just a band that when u saw or see them now u are just totally blown away.

for me one of the coolest bands ever without a doubt is Motley Crue

I dont think there is a cooler bassist/drummer combo in music than Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee and in my opinion motley are one of the few bands that can give GNR a run for their money as far as being cool is concerned

I think Vince is a kick ass frontman, Mick is quiet but demonic looking but is definitely the least cool

but everytime i watch Motley on a live tape, its the only band where i watch the bassist/drummer more than a do the frontman, and that isnt a knock on vince cause he is damn good

but the passion that nikki and tommy play with is almost second to none in my opinion

so who do u all think are some of the coolest bands

remember doesnt matter if they are complete shit as musicians

Hanoi Rocks - Can their rock egos are any bigger? Love the self-confidence they have.

Melrose - They never get it big, but still they have a great attitude. They are from the same small suburban than i am, so they can only be cool.

Backyard Babies - I don?t know anything as cool as Backyard Babies on stage.

Was the intention really that everyone list every band they have ever heard of???

Motley Crue cool? Lol - i'll dig out those photo's of them in drag if u ain't careful!

'Cool' - Pearl Jam, U2 (when they were good - yup, thats a long, long time ago), they managed to avoid the fashion crimes most bands fall victim to, thoigh they are hardly blameless - their attitude to music has always been good too.

Yeah man, you people are just listing every mainstream band / artist there is. "Wow, what a great idea for a thread." Bob Dylan cool? My grandpa's cooler than him. The Beatles? For fuck's sake.

If you want a cool band, check out Arcturus. The guys dressed up like pirates for the 'La Masquerade Infernale' photo shoot. Really, what's cooler than pirates? Yarrrr!

The Dillinger Escape Plan is pretty cool too, they like to beat up the audience during gigs.

The Beatles were quite cool between 1966 and 1970. I really love that period.

Aren?t they without a lead singer? If so, that?s uncool.   :P

Wow, I'm definitely surprised you're in the know about that band :) Anyway, you're wrong since they recently got one of the coolest ever singers, Simen Hestnaes, to join! That guy is amazing, I simply can't wait for the new material recorded with him :D

Hmm, thanks?
I read about it somewhere, probably in Soundi or muusikoiden.net.
