Title: Could this ever happen?
Post by: Groghan on December 13, 2004, 04:44:03 PM
Think Axl would ever jam with VR for a song at a concert?

Let's pretend that some of the lawsuits start getting worked out.
Chinese Democracy is set to be released, say a week from the date. VR's second album is also scheduled to be released in the next week or so.
VR is playing at some club in whatever city Axl is in.

They've been talking to each other. Maybe not as "friends", but in getting the lawsuits wrapped up and all that b.s.

Midway thru the VR set, does Axl comes out and does It's So Easy with them.

Think of hte publicity this would drum up. All the rock world would be talking about it. It'd be all over MTV, all the internet rock sites would be talking about it - this would create more of a buzz than pretty much anything else these guys could do.

Axl could sing It's So Easy or Nightrain . . . then say "CD comes out next week. Go buy it. VR c omes out in two weeks - I'll be buying it, you should do. Thank you" and then that's it.

They don't have to be friends or hangout together.

Just one song, to drum up publicity for their upcoming albums

This suggestion is so ridiculous that the thread should be locked and the author banned.

Relax, we're having fun here.
Besides I never considered how much hullabaloo would be if Axl N' Slash ever speaked to each other. Interesting!
To be serious, it's good, but too good to be true to ever happen  :P

i doubt it! and i hope not! No reason for it to happen.

But i wouldent be supriced if Axl make peace with the former Gunners, sometime in the future!

Highly doubtful. Axl wouldn`t even let Slash attend one of his shows, think there`d be no chance in hell he`d join him onstage.

I dont get how people still have it in their heads that a reunion is still a possibility. Im almost positive in my mind that Axl has closed that chapter in his life no matter how important and significant it in reality was. He may still be using the Gn'R name but deep down he is distancing himself from memories and anything to do with the original band in my opinion.

i really dont want that to happen, n' why the hell would that happen!!

With all the shit that VR say (or dress up) about GNR n' Axl, there already givin' Axl publicity.

Some people live in the past. A reunion is not gonna happen.

If Axl performed with Slash on stage... both Velvet Revolver and the New GN'R would be overshadowed... no one would give a shit about "Chinese Democracy" or "Contraband 2", they'd only be thinking: Reunion.

And it's not gonna happen.

Thanks to some of your responses.

But to some of you . . . . what the fuck is your problem? Lose the attitude and smartass comments. This is a GnR message board, where people come to talk about the band.
Axl hasn't been on tour in a couple years and hasn't released an album in what, 14 years?
Every topic imaginable has been beaten to death.

I was just curious if people thought this could happen. It'd be great publicity for both bands.

I'm not living in the past, just trying to come up with something for people to talk about.

Also interesting that a few of you seem to know what is going on in Axl's head, and a few of you know exactly what the relationship is between Axl and the former gunners. Where do you get this info? From bits and pieces of interviews, or have you been hanging out with the boys? You were with Slash yesterday and he told you "I fucking hate that guy."
some of you talk like you know EVERYTHING about Axl and VR . . . it's ridiculous.

the only place where axl joins slash is a courtroom, coz slash n' duff filed an action against axl. so i think that's all we need to know, isn't it?

It couldn?t happen and I wouldn?t want it to happen.

I wouldn?t hate to see all current GNR members and VR members sharing a stage amicably?in the ideal world.
But The thought of Axl alone promoting new GNR album with why-the-fuck some ex-men?s band, leaving the actual band mates behind disgusts me. What?s the dickens! The New band must win the solid endorsement as GNR from the general public first and foremost.

After reading some posts on the Tommy US show thread, I say ditto to estranged.1098 and usurper.

Not ever gonna happen.

Axl + Scott = Fireworks, Blood and more lawsuits.

Wait till CD comes out and Axl is back in circulation, the fur will fly, Axl's never been one for keeping the peace. After the Halloween thing, I can't wait to read the first big interview with Axl. He must have so much to say. On a whole bunch of things.

They way you were talking about their two upcoming albums was like you were talking about X-box and Playstation 2.
Yeah there's everywhere a competition :hihi:
