Title: "Fall To Pieces" Now Playing On VH1...
Post by: Booker Floyd on August 23, 2004, 10:57:47 AM
I assume this will be merged with the others...

Just caught it a couple of minutes ago and its really fucking great.  As somebody who was disappointed with the "Slither" video, Im very happy to see what they did with this one...its very real and effective.  Its easily one of the best rock videos to come along in awhile, which isnt saying a whole lot, but either way - its impressive.

So look for it on VH1... : ok:

This is an amazing video.  I turned on VH1 about five minutes before it came on; lucky I guess.  In case you haven't seen it yet, it basically shows Scott's like falling to pieces in many different ways.  His wife and I believe Duff's wife are in the video.  It shows some footage of them playing but a lot of the video focuses on Scott, with Duff included a lot as well.  It's a great video.  This should top the Rock Countdown on MTV2 very soon.

Yeah, for those who havent seen it:

It alternates between flashbacks of Scott and Mary and Scott getting arrested, footage of Scott suffering withdrawl at a party, rehearsel footage, and live performing.

The most intense scene is Duff discovering Scott on the bathroom floor and gripping him up...

Slashs solo is simply him playing in a chair.

Slash wears the top hat for the ending live performance.

Theres footage of the band (minus Scott, obviously) partying: Dave driking beers, Duff with his wife, Matt getting chicks to make out, etc.

Scotts "journal of memories" is shown...its a scrapbook of news clippings about him, drawings, photos and poems.

While STP always had more surreal, abstract videos, this video is actually kind of GNR-ish; not only in that it focuses on the real-life troubles of the singer, but the party and rehearsel footage vaguely recalls scenes from "Dont Cry," "Sweet Child O' Mine," and "Yesterdays".
