GN'R/Slash mention at chartattack.com:

The chart can get pretty boring with Lavigne beating out everyone for the top spot week after week, but the battle between guitar wizard Slash and his younger self is worth watching. It’s clear now that rock fans prefer Slash’s familiar solos to his new ones as Velvet Revolver has dropped to #13, while the Guns N’ Roses Greatest Hits CD sits at #6.

Rumor alert: GN'R to tour in Europe in December? According to various sources the band are planning a tour of Europe in late 2004. One possible venue is Glasgow's SECC. As usual, this rumor is unconfirmed at the moment. So don't book those plane tickets yet......

VELVET REVOLVER's "Contraband" has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying shipments of more than 1,000,000 units (with 707,832 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan). The album's first single, "Slither" has held the No. 1 spot on all rock formats for four weeks straight.

"Contraband" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart, selling over 250,000 copies. Notably, this marks the best-ever debut for a new rock artist in the SoundScan era.

VELVET REVOLVER shot a video for their second single, "Fall to Pieces", this past weekend on the Santa Monica pier. The clip reportedly features all bandmembers and their wives in the setting of the old 1970s Starwood Club.
