Cool, as i said they will be who i really have hope for.  Its a great station who now belong to the capital radio group (but then who doesnt) but they do seem to have free reigns of the playlist. I will make it my personal mission to get Guns to londons ear via these guys.

Heres hoping we get something to work with very soon

In France, I see mainly 2 rock stations that are likely to play GN'R if we request them. One of them is national and the other one is limited to the Paris area.
The other stations are pop-rock at best, so there will be (much) more work to do. It will also depend on what kind of musical style GN'R goes in.

Other than that, we could push magazines to do a feature on them when the time comes, but rock magazines will talk about them anyway so I don't think we're needed  Grin

In Sweden we have one big national radio channel, P3, that could play GN'R.

Then there are commercial channels like NRJ (who I don't think would play GN'R), Rix (maybe if it's not too "heavy") and Mix Megapol.

In Stockholm they have Rockklassiker, a rock station.

Stockholm, Gothenburg and Southern Sweden also have Radio City

You're thinking about Ou? FM and Le Mouv' ? At french GT Skippy talked about the Z?gut show on RTL2 and I think there's also Europe 2 that can be targeted Wink !Of course I guess there's no need to try w/ Skyrock or NRJ though  Wink !
Anyway I hope to draw rapidly a list of radios that be contacted in France, Belgium, and Switzerland  Smiley !

It's funny, we have a station called NRJ too. But no need to contact them, they play more the likes of Britney Spears and fake R'N'B.  hihi

Yes that's the 2 I was talking about Wink
Zegut will play the album no matter what if he likes it. If he doesn't, he won't. Or he will give it bad comments. That's the way he is  Grin
As for Europe 2, they might be too pop, I'm not sure  Undecided
Then, there could also be local stations outside Paris, but I don't know about those.....

I don't remember if anyone has mentioned that, but in my opinion the biggest promotion tool will definitely be MTV. Whether we like them or not, they can boost a career like nothing else. So people should all contact them, whether they're from Europe or the US, since MTV is pretty much everywhere  Grin

If they get enough request, they might play the video in high rotation. Hell, who knows, we might even get an interview with good ol' Kurt Loder  hihi

These are very big national radio stations which i can contact easily!

Anyway, some suggestions on what else do would be great........

In Iceland we have one big national station that is likely to play GN'R, R?s 2 (www.ruv.is), and then there is a great rock station X-i? (www.xid977.is) that plays GN'R quite frequently. There is also Radio Reykjavik (www.radioreykjavik.is) that plays mainly classic rock (pre 1990), nevertheless they might be willing to play GN'R.

That's not a bad idea. Some web radios like KNAC have a pretty large audience.

Ideas for UK targetting:

Digital radio stations - these seem to be a 'growth market', and a lot of the stations are quite eclectic and/or specialist and request oriented. Kerrang radio and Totalrock will probably play Chinese Democracy stuff anyway. BBC 6 music plays a lot of 'real music' and has a couple of rock oriented shows. Planet Rock plays a lot of G n' R but is more 'classic rock' oreinted.

BBC radio 2 - Don't laugh. Though it plays mostly 'oldies' and middle of the road 'newies', there are quite a few request slots and they do occasionally throw on a heavier track. Plus, something like the blues could easily find its way into rotation. Hey, it is the UK's most popular station (but admittedly it probably wouldn't touch new GnR until it had fairly become popular anyway).

Sky digital music channels - why hasn't anyone mentioned this? Scuzz, Kerrang and Q always get shitloads of requests when they have GNR videos listed anyway, MTV 2 will probably play Chinese democracy tracks too and has plenty of request slots. Its possible that something like the blues could make it way onto VH1, whilst VH2 could play some of the heavier stuff.

Student Radio stations could be worth a try too. As far as i know many of them are quite request oriented and carry specialised shows. Any exposure counts.

Pub jukeboxes - are these still used as a promo tool? I know I'm stating the obvious, but if CD ends up on any jukeboxes it'll be well worth slipping in a few quid to put it onto repeat play. A pub down the road from me has TSI available for selection, so stranger things have happened.

For france and radios :

The ONLY PURE riocl radio is called " Le Mouv".

The three MAJOR radios that sponsor big concerts : RTL2, EUROPE2, NRJ ( pronounced Energy).

Radios listened to by youngsters : NRJ, SKYROCK, FG ( techno and mostly gay) and VOLTAGE ( which is in my street).

I know a few people who work for " people" magazines.

I guess no one wants that, but if someone does, it's always publicity and you know where to find me.

I have an old friend at EUROPE2, and am not sure i'll humilate myself into calling..

In London :

Friend used to work for Virgin Radio and now works for some musical mag...

Anyways....Yeah, i'll stop there...

I don't mind going to see radios, but i will not do it unless i can 250% sure that the band will be where they are supposed to be, do what they are supposed to do and get that album out.

I have a career to make and will not embarass myself. If i did, no more work for me sooooo    add 2 and 2.

I don't think the idea is to embarrass yourself. Only to collect information about where GN'R could be played....
