I thought i would start a thread on this great band, i've only been listening to them for about a month or so but already have most of their albums and think they are ace and the album Powertrip is a classic, just wondered what everyone else thought of them

They're Okay. Seen them with Megadeth way back in '98 and they put on a pretty good show.

Powertrip is on Powertrip, amazingly.

EF toured with them when Monster were the shit a few years ago, and were offered huge amounts of record deals as they blew MM offstage every night.

I'd like to see them play the UK, but that's only because the amazing Gluecifer are on the tour.

Its an odd world isnt it?. I first Realized Monster Magnet due to the fact that i watch Wrestling. Now Matt Hardy Version 1 theme music is Monster Magnet's Live For the Moment. I then never listened to them until i looked at the Matrix Soundtrack that i have had for over 3 years now and there we have it another MM song.

I have Recently Got Power Trip and i have to say i am very Impressed.

Myself and StonedMaides are going to see them on the 22nd!.

Ill get back to you after the concert.

Later All

If any of you see Gluecifer let me know what you think?

I doubt I'll be going as I can't afford pay 18 quid to see Gluecifer, not when I'm going to see Winnebago Deal and The Dangerfields around that time.

God Says No was released a month overseas before hitting the states just as Monolithic Baby will as well.  I'd Love to see them tour the states this summer.  Europeans have more of an upper hand than they think.  Also some great Gothic bands outta Europe that We will probably never see in the states

Saw Monster Magnet last night and they were fuckin' ace (Dave used my lighter Smiley) they played greats like Space Lord and Powertrip along with lots of new stuff, Dave also decided to sacrifice his guitar at the end and smash it up just before it he had been singing 'American Pie' he was stoned as a monkey and all the better for it smoking

As for Gluecifer, id never heard of them before and did not expect much but boy they were class i was so impressed all i can say is Automatic Thrill ok

Glad you liked Gluecifer. I really wish I had gone to see them. I was actually at the venue when they were playing, but as I said, I ain't payin' near ?20 to watch them for 20 mins.

Monster Magnet are not a bad band, but I only have about two stoner albums, it really isn't my thing.

Stoner Rock is my fave sub genre of Rock and Roll, Monster Magnet are one of the pioneers of this and i still dont have one there fucking albums!

Orange Goblin are another good stoner band, Chris Misfit used to have one of thier albums...i have however stolen it...un beknowns to him.

Down are another good Stoner band and so are Pantera and superJOINT ritual to an extent although both the latter are really more metal!

Some of Zepplins stuff is also Stoner, i can listen to that shit and just fade away and think about trivial unrelated to anything stuff!
