How is the Ric Flair DVD set? I heard good things about it.

I came up with a lot of DVD's over the holidays: Use Your Illusion I, Use Your Illusion II, Spider-Man box set, Daredevil, and X2.

It is f*cking awesome (and 10.5 hours long). Here is what is on the DVD (Matches and Segments):

Ric Flair vs. ... (shown in their entirety)

1. Harley Race Starrcade (11/24/83)

2. Dusty Rhodes Starrcade (11/28/85)

3. Barry Windham World Wide Wrestling (01/20/87)

4. Ricky Steamboat Clash of the Champions VI (04/02/89)

5. Ricky Steamboat WrestleWar (05/07/89)

6. Terry Funk I Quit Match Clash of the Champions IX (11/15/89)

7. Royal Rumble (01/19/92)

8. Sting Undisputed World Title Unification Clash of the Champions XXVII (06/23/94)

The DVD will also feature:

*Debut match with the WWWF vs. Pete Sanchez 3/1/76

*A day in the life of the Four Horsemen

*Flair'd match with Triple H from 5.19.03 Raw with a post-show tribute that has never-been-seen before on TV

Plus all the promos & controversies surrounding his greatest matches against Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Terry Funk, Sting as well as his 1992 Royal Rumble victory.

The are tons and tons of extra material with buildups and promos. It really gets you into the fueds.

The only problem is, I've only seen about 3 hours of it so far (All of the Harley Race Segment, match and Fued, His WWE Stay, Terry Funk segment, His match with HHH and extras with it, and two easter eggs), but I will carve out time later.

I really can't wait for the Steamboat segment. Actually, Maybe I should watch it now.

I also can't wait for the new Mick Foley DVD. It will have footage from WWE, WCW,ECW, Smoky Mountain, and FMW. That will rule all kinds of ass.

That actually sounds pretty good. I wish that my local video stores carried more wrestling DVDs. I don't really follow wrestling anymore, and I don't want to get back into buying the DVDs. I wouldn't mind seeing the Flair/Funk stuff again though.

I also heard about the Foley DVD. I might end up buying that one. He's my all-time favorite wrestler, and I've been partially following wrestling since I heard he was coming back for another match. I probably won't be able to resist the DVD when all the promotion kicks in around the same time as his final match.

Here is whats in store for you with the Foley DVD:

The following full matches will be on the new Mick Foley two disc DVD set that comes out in January:

Cactus Jack vs. Vader (4/17/93 WCW Saturday Night match in which Mick gets dropped straight on his head and suffers a real concussion)
Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne vs. Nasty Boys (4/17/94 Spring Stampede PPV from Chicago)
Cactus Jack vs. Sabu (6/24/94 first ECW match)
Cactus Jack vs. Chris Candido (11/18/94 SMW)
Cactus Jack vs. Sandman (2/4/95 Death match)
Cactus Jack & Raven vs. Terry Funk & Tommy Dreamer (11/18/95 ECW November to Remember)
Cactus Jack vs. Mikey Whipwreck (3/9/96)
Mankind vs. Shawn Michaels (9/22/96 WWE In your house: Mindgames)
Cactus Jack vs. HHH (9/22/97 Raw match)
Mick Foley vs. Terry Funk (5/4/98 Raw match)
Steve Austin vs. Dude Love (5/31/98 Over the Edge PPV)
Mankind vs. Undertaker (6/28/98 Hell in a Cell)
Rock vs. Mankind (1/4/99 Raw) (Mick wins the title)
Cactus Jack vs. HHH (1/23/00 Street fight at the Royal Rumble)
Cactus Jack vs. Sting (6/20/92)
Cactus Jack vs. Sabu from ECW (9/30/94)
Jack Foley & Les Thornton vs. British Bulldogs (9/13/86) (His long forgotten WWE stint as a jobber, and this is a good match too)
Plus tons of vignettes, promos and a Confidential feature.

I've already saw the match listings for the Foley DVD somewhere else. It looks like they cover pretty much everything with the exception of his last two matches. I'm particularly glad they put the Foley/ Austin match from Over the Edge '98 on there, but that's probably because I think that's the best match ever. Austin beating the hell out of Foley while trying to fight of McMahon's evil deeds is what the last wrestling boom period was all about.
