VELVET REVOLVER To Release 'Comrades' In April

VELVET REVOLVER, the much buzzed-about rock group featuring ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS vocalist Scott Weiland, former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner from Dave Navarro's (JANE'S ADDICTION) band, have set "Comrades" as the working title for their much-anticipated debut, tentatively due on April 27 through RCA Records.
The album, which was produced by Josh Abraham (LIMP BIZKIT, STAIND) and mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, LINKIN PARK, SLAYER, SEPULTURA), is scheduled to be mastered this Friday (Dec. 19) in New York City. The mastering session will be attended by the entire band minus Weiland, who is currently completing a six-month residential drug rehabilitation program in Pasadena, Ca.
Scott, who was recently placed on strict lockdown after attempting to bring drugs into the residential facility, is believed to have one more song left to record for the CD, which will include twelve of the more than fifty tracks the band co-wrote before and after Weiland joined the lineup last spring. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Slither", "Falling to Pieces", "Superhuman" and "Illegal Eye".

I don't like the title. It may begin to grow on me, but comrades sounds more like a band name than an album name

Not to be smart..but I don't care what they call it. Just as long as I have an album in my hands.

I don't care what the title is, but i actually do like comrades. It's nothing to do wiuth China dude. You really think Slash and Duff give two shits about doing stuff like that? Or Axl? No, thats the kind of stuff that forum members on HTGTH and newGNR like to do. Cross reference and analyse. The GnR and VR guys are just making records. Having far more life than us lot.

The Velvet Revolver moniker certainly invites this kind of "cross reference and analyse" ; the analogy between Guns n'Roses and Velvet Revolver is pretty obvious, isn't it (the union of violence and softness) ?
Anyway, I've made 3 records with my band in a little more than two years. We didn't sell more than a 100 of each of them, but that's beside the point !!

Nope... it's you kind of fans that make these observations and analyse things to much. It's not the bands. Invites? Well, fine, analyse. But it's a waste of your time.

cuz it un-original...
its like iron maiden's album "iron maiden" with the title track "iron maiden"... now, maiden is awesome band...
but it doesnt get more unoriginal than that....
