Just curious if any of you have seen the Gn'R tribute band, Appetite For Destruction? I believe they are mostly a NY, CT, NJ and eastern coast band, but I could be wrong.

I'm going to check them out tonight along with a Van Halen and Metallica tribute. The only tribute band I've ever seen was Draw the Line (an Aerosmith tribute band) and they were amazing (no pun intended  hihi ).

So if any of you have seen AFD, drop a note and let me know how they are.

I'm sorry to say that I wasn't overly impressed with AFD. Although the band was pretty tight and the sound was good, "Axl" just didn't appeal to me. He had all the costume changes and manerisms down pretty well, but he just didn't sound like Axl Rose. There was no grit to his voice at all. This guy sounded like Axl with a terrible cold...it was all nasal sounding. Axl Nose is more like it  hihi

Although I left half way through their set, the song choices were pretty interesting. From what I remember the first half went like this...

Welcome to the Jungle
Think About You
Dead Horse
Don't Cry
Mr. Brownstone
Get in the Ring
Used to Love Her
Mama Kin
It's So Easy
November Rain

Isn't the current line-up of GN'R simply a cover band?

Well that wal a cheap shot if I've ever heard one.  hihi

The best Axl I've seen was a guy in a UK tribute band "Bad Obsession". The voice is perfect as well as the stage act and the guy's only in his early 20's with no vocal training!

Go see em if you're in the UK!
