It is an amazing song by itself. But placing it as the last song on CD gives it that special effect. I find CD heavy and disturbing in a way, I go through all kinds of emotions when I listen to the whole album in order. After all the emotional highs and lows during the 12 songs that proceed to TIL, then comes the intense and beautiful ballad which kind of puts all the pieces back together but leaves the wound open.
Finally comes prostitute which has that calming effect musically, and lyrically gives the explanation for the criticism the author gets and why he is misunderstood...
