It's worrying of they haven't. As a supposedly functioning 'band' that doesn't wish to classed as a nostalgic act. You can't exactly say they didn't get time or were too busy to create a song or two together. The world stood still for a year, possibly 2.

I'm hoping they have of course.

Yeah, agree with all of this.  Little to go on here that suggests this anything more than a touring operation.

Do I want to hear 'Perhaps'?  Sure do.  I'll take anything.  And I did like the 20 plus year old demo.

But in 3 years, they have released 3 songs.  All old demos from 20-25 years ago.

I'm being asked to believe that this current line-up has created stuff on their own...but they'd rather rework demos from Axl's failed experiment of a line-up and put that out as a representation to who they are as a band in 2023.

I think it would be even a correct approach if it wouldn't take a lifetime to add some guitar and bass parts (vocals are done already) which is the faster work. Looks like they are just buying time, not sure about the reason: after all the time they wasted they don't need anything to keep the attention of the majority of people, cause people listen to the classics and go to the shows mainly if not only for that reason. Hard fans don't need that cause they already have the leaks and they gonna stick with the band forever don't matter what, like this forum shows, either if they complain all the time or enjoy everything . So, i really dont understand how they think about things. It looks like more of a "we don't tour only" thing but I don't think it works cause at the end of the day like i said only few people care about that. If they don't have already something huge to release, i don't see any reason...whatever..

I hope the release is soon because if its going to coincide with also playing it live it would suck for the ones going to shows now and missing out on it only for lets say half way thru this tour then they start playing it live.

This makes no sense marketing-wise. Usually bands release a single before the tour to sell tickets, not halfway through it. Look at Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, etc.

They may be trying to boost ticket sales for a specific leg of the tour, or certain shows. Or it may not be about that at all, and they just want to get some of the songs they have in the back catalog out.

Metallica released a full album. There's no indication Guns is doing that as of yet. I wouldn't suspect anything more this year - just Perhaps, and maybe The General after that based on the signs we've seen. It's not apples to apples.

Has anything ever made sense with this band?? Worse timings than a Casio. There's times they could and should have jumped onto things after a massive public interest buzz... VMAs 2002, 2006 tour when Axl sounded the best ever, 2008 CD release, the 2 new singles...but no nothing. It's becoming or already is lazy.  Of course they absolutely 100% should have released a song or two before this tour started in June. Everyone knows it. It was the right thing to do for the loyal fans that keep buying tickets to see the same show.  But no, nothing. Why would they.

I have to agree with the person over at MyGNR who said they are tired of this game for various reasons and they are just going to wait for the official release.  I did though find the comment that management "was going to spend the day playing whack a mole".     Some of this game is still fun.
