i would agree with that, what's on tv is cringy at times, but I suspect the show its self is better than being broadcast. Some angles work better than others and the audience are enjoying it, on that basis I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that it's better than we are hearing. But would like to hear the views of someone there, watch back on iPlayer and giving their verdict.

Just watch iplayer..you don't need me...look I'm a fan, but the vocals died in the middle . Bad. That not a whinge. It's fact. Setlist questionable too.

You need to revisit your definition of "fact".

They had to cut anything goes, street of dreams coma, locamotive and yesterdays because of time. Which was a bummer but it is what it is.

They haven't been playing Street of Dreams on every show.

I thought they put on a good show with Axel getting vocally stronger as the night went on. Slash was absolutely brilliant and Duff and the rest of the band were solid. The setlist was good and Dave Grohl was really cool. I get to see GNR in August at Metlife stadium, I am really looking forward to seeing them. Thank you to the person who provided the link to the streaming. You were right Jarmo when you said this concert would be special. Look forward to seeing the pictures from the concert. A great night indeed.

Axl really shines when he sings songs that were recorded in lower register.

What a performance last night, really buzzing for Budapest now.
Bad Obsession, Down on the Farm and Reckless Life were something else.

his voice is completely shot. Since 2018. We all know that (even if someone denies to death and still in 2023 talks about ‘livestream, yt etc suck live is better…but this works for axl only obviously). Non fans opinions set the truth, they generally don’t like these performances. And ofc it will never be the same, he’s not getting younger and he’s giving his 100%.. as fans if we don’t have anything good to say it’s better to say nothing. It will never change anyway, that’s why my last gnr concert was imola 2017. After 7 years (but I would say 15 years) we are still talking basically about the same old performance and his voice. hard fans will keep saying it’s getting stronger, great performance etc while is the opposite. It’s annoying and it’s not worth it. They gonna tour forever with these standards, like it or not. I personally like the fact that finally he chose to pick lower songs, the show flows better with less weak points.. The rest, again, it is what it is and it won’t change.

General consensus from the people that were there seems to be that he sounded fine, not as strong as before but that being understandable due to being in his 60s, the only actually critical review i've seen of the performance so far was complaining about too many guitar solos

A great show a great fucking show and really pleasing to see Axl happy and enjoying the concert and grateful to be there.
Slash sounds better now than in the 90s.
I love this band!

"too many guitar solos"? everyone has their own tastes I suppose.
Quite frankly when I saw them at Spurs last year if Slash's solo was still going on now I wouldn't complain... fucking hook me up to an IV and leave me watching it indefitely ..
