Axl announced a new tour for  Guns N' Roses through a tweet.

What do you think?

I am personally not too excited about it, since there is no new music, and Izzy Stradlin is still not part of the reunion band.  rant rant love crying beer

Er, he said see everyone on tour.  Not the same.

But let's read between the lines and say he's coming to St Louis.  Cheesy
I took it personally.  hihi

Yeah, not too excited either...  Undecided last time his voice was destroyed.
At the very least it would be nice to have a couple of tracks out before the tour begins.

no point to have Izzy back in the band without plans for an album, Richard is way more reliable than him live, and a way better technical guitarist who can play CD stuff.

Would like for Izzy to come along.  But I would have Richard tagging a long too and a contract that says, we're suing the fuck out of you if you don't follow through.  Izzy would get them on the road to an album right quick.

From what I have heard Richard Fortus is a better technical musician than Izzy Stradlin, but Bumblefoot and Buckethead and Tommy Stinson were even better musicians than Slash and Duff as well, yet they did not generate all the enthusiasm Slash and Duff have caused. Izzy Stradlin is part of the Soul of GNR, he is a forgotten legend.

Izzy hasn't been a part of this band in 30 years. He was never made for the spotlight that GNR projected to be was he a great song writer yes im sure a very good guitarist but ill ride with Fortus everyday of the week he has earned that status. and not for nothing the only time i hear izzy refer to gnr in the last 30 years happens to be when he feels he is not getting his share of the action sorry be gone.

Hope those going have a great time.
Personally, this is the first time they’re coming to Norway and I’m not even considering going.
If they bring along Izzy or better yet Izzy and Adler, I’m in!

They can bring them, it is not that difficult to bring them in.
Probably ego problems are harder to surmount.
I personally think it was selfish to bring PopCorn Adler for a couple of shows and barely for 2 to 3 songs. Very selfish in my opinion.

It's funny to me that people who supposedly love Izzy so much don't know that he doesn't like touring.

I know the general narrative but did he ever express that himself in interviews?

As far as I can remember, or the version of the narrative I remember, was that it was too hard for Izzy to be around the band when he stopped using hard drugs.
And many of my musician-friends often say that much of the songwriting talent in GNR went away with Izzy.
Not to mention the "feel/swagger".
Adler is also often mentioned as having that hard to define "feel/swagger" that a much better technical session-player can't replicate.
Just search YouTube for when Adler joined the band in 2016(?) and played My Michelle.

yeah, I mean, the other guys were always prompt to say that Izzy didn't like to tour, but he toured with GNR all these years right...and then he toured again without any problem with the Ju Ju Hounds

like he said in this interview :

https://youtu.be/WftdpWNXFk4

"I've always loved touring, I got a bad rap from the Gunners about, you know, not wanting to tour and do videos and all that, I've always loved traveling and I've always loved playing different places"

He's not done a tour since 2000. That was three dates in Japan. Before that he toured with the Ju Ju Hounds, until 1993.

He was a guest with GN'R on some tours after that. But I don't think he was bound by a schedule. Which explains why he showed up for certain shows, and not the next one, only to appear again later.

He didn't even support his own albums with tours...
