if it's the case, it's the case with every show who are recorded with phones.

now compares the ones who were recorded back in 2006 or 2010 with the ones who were recorded in the last years.

I'm sure Axl's voice has changed in 30+ years, but... I've said it before, and I'll say it again: On all five shows I've been to, Axl's voice has been perfect, including the whole band. The gigs were AMAZING!
All the shows lasted for more than 3 hours. At the last show I have been to, the sound mix may have not been perfect, where I was standing, but I was super happy with the whole performance.
I think the problem is that if you get used to a studio recording, you probably expect to hear exactly that.
I remember the moaning from the so called fans, about Axl's voice and shape back in 2006, 2010, 2012... go back and listen to the HD recordings... Its different compared to the 90-ies but its amazing.
The man can definitely sing and the band can play. Its only a matter of what you expect to hear, and will you join the millions of happy fans attending the concerts or will you sit at home and moan on a message board. peace beer

It's never been about his voice to me.  I recognize it but it's his stage presence that makes him a good front man.  Every artist you see after him gets compared to how Axl was up on that stage and they rarely come close to how good he is.  He can get to the point where he's talk signing to the songs and he will still give a good prtformance.

I'm not saying he sounds like 2006 Axl in person. Just that he doesn't sound like you hear from recent soundboards or phone recordings.

Changing voice and the man still has the balls to face down thousands of people and sing his heart out.  We haven't lost that guy.
