Also on this day in 2006, GN'R headlined the Download Festival in the UK. Izzy and Sebastian Bach joined the band on stage.

And in 2012, GN'R played in Strasbourg, France. The first and only time GN'R has played there.

On June 11th, 2022, they headlined the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden.

Aside from saying 2025 is all about Guns, Slash also said he heard a rumor that there will a small tour during the summer.

The man is keeping busy that's for sure. After the Serpent Tour he's recording another Conspirators album and then it's G n' R from there. Here's hoping that happens.

Books are useless! I only ever read one book, ?To Kill A Mockingbird,? and it gave me absolutely no insight on how to kill mockingbirds.

I like that about Slash and Duff.  They're will to be there for GNR but they are happily doing their own thing.

I had forgotten about Axl's stalker.  I knew she went onto Justin Timberlake but didn't hear anything after that.  Wonder what happen to her?  She use to post but I think everybody banned her a long time ago.

I forgot too that Slash did one of those Trading Spaces show.  Wonder if he'll do a Celebrity Rehab?  Bet he would get into reno day.  hihi

Comment from Traci Guns
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/tracii_guns_recalls_first_impression_of_axl_rose_says_process_behind_chinese_democracy_is_more_interesting_than_the_album_itself.html

The guitarist also praised Axl's efforts on the equally legendary and notorious "Chinese Democracy" record, arguing that the story behind it is more interesting than the album itself:

"I really love the whole process of 'Chinese Democracy' more than the album. The process was brilliant because, you have this kind of Howard Hughes guy, spending Geffen's dough and experimenting. Axl was really learning how to play guitar during those times as well... So, to me, that was like a great privilege for him to go through this creative process for years, and satisfy all his itches."

He added:

"None of us musicians that are any good are mentally stable. You don't become an extraordinary person in any way by being together, right? So with him, it's so great because he did that. He went out there, he toured it. He made a lot of other guys famous because he picked really good guys who could stand on their own two feet, which is very difficult... Buckethead, Bumblefoot, DJ Ashba — he brought all these people into the limelight, and, at that point, it's up to them whether they sink or swim, because they had the best frontman they're ever going to have."

Watching Glasto today. I don't like Coldplay but they killed it. Amazing how GnR just didn't get the memo and failed badly. Treated it as just another night of the tour.

But in a way it is. It's bigger than many festivals, but it's another festival.

I mean, every region has their own special festival that means a lot. You have Glastonbury in the UK, Rock In Rio in Brazil is huge there, Coachella is a big deal in the US etc.

Pinkpop is legendary in the Netherlands, Roskilde in Scandinavia etc.

The Isle of Wight is a big deal in the UK, 2nd to Glasto, but nonetheless tends to get its own weekend of filming on Sky Art.

https://www.prints4u.net/product/isle-of-wight-festival-2024-the-prodigy-pet-shop-boys-green-day-line-up-poster-print/

This year it was Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys and Green Day headlining, it has the same kind of mix as Glasto too. This is the festival they should do in 2025 to complete the set. I know John Giddens, promoter,  is keen.

As an aside, If you like your punk/rockabilly style music His Lordship is a banging act.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KvJg4vM7D0

You might not remember this one from 2006:

THE ROLLING STONES
A BIGGER BANG - WILL BE JOINED BY
GUNS N' ROSES
MONDAY, JULY 10 - NURNBERG - FRANKENSTADION
& WED. JULY 12 - LEIPZIG - ZENTRALSTADION

But those shows were cancelled after Keith Richards' accident in Fiji. GN'R played in Greece and Turkey instead.

Eddie Rosenblatt, president of Geffen Records during its days as one of the hottest record labels in the music business, died Tuesday at a hospital in Santa Barbara of pneumonia at 89.

Rosenblatt led Geffen in the 1980s and 1990s, helming a roster that included Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Whitesnake, Peter Gabriel, Sonic Youth and XTC.

I like the part where they say they may have got my credit card number but not to worry it didn't affect my ticketmaster account.   hihi

Data breaches don't freak me out.  They happen.

Why Axl Rose thought Tipper Gore “hindered” his career

https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/axl-rose-tipper-gore-hindered-career/

I was just thinking about Tipper Gore the other day.  God was she a scary woman.   hihi  I remember when all of that was going on I got a call from their efforts.  The woman was outraged about it and when I told her I wasn't concerned about it and said goodbye, she said I was an idiot or something like that, because my young daughter was still listening on the other line.

Have to wonder what she thought of Frank Zappa.   hihi
