Ironically, I think the only reason Carlson even did that segment was a craven attempt to flatter his audience by displaying a a token gesture of impartiality and therefore allowing them to feel their blind trust of him is justified. But he overestimated his viewers; even a token gesture of impartiality is an affront that cannot be abided.

The GOP is now reckoning with the monster their media created.
