USA is supposed to be the greatest ever advertisement for democracy in the world, and it's not anymore. Kinda sad.

But this seems to be what half the country is happy with.

It's gonna be kinda hypocritical for the US to comment on corrupt governments and rigged elections in other places, when their own president is talking about the US elections in a way that reminds more of a third world country, than the USA....

/jarmo

So true, because you have brainwashed people like my mom who believe Biden is a socialist. Biden is more right center then Obama even was. The problem is most Americans haven't a clue what Socialism or Communism even mean. The systems in and of themselves aren't bad, it's people who run them. Any socioeconomic system of government can be corrupted with the right person in power, because it's happening to our democratic republic. They also don't understand the difference between Russia totalitarianism and social Democrat countries like yours, Denmark, Norway etc. I mean the president of the United States said when asked yesterday if he'd agree to a peaceful transference of power if he loses and said well see, he suggested throwing out ballots and said there would be no transfer only a continuation, my mom is like i can't believe you want to live in a socialist country. That's jaw dropping wtf.

But you can bet your life our dear Senator B would probably have been on the verge of an aneurism if Obama had been refusing to leave office in 2016 Roll Eyes

He will just say Trump sometimes says stupid things and makes unforced errors.

Can't help but notice how the resident Trump cultists are getting increasingly quieter as the Reichstag burns...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/09/25/this-is-not-drill-reichstag-is-burning/

"Ask Yale historian Timothy Snyder, a top authority on Nazism and Stalinism. “The Reichstag has been on a slow burn since June,” he told me. “The language Trump uses to talk about Black Lives Matter and the protests is very similar to the language Hitler used — that there’s some vague left-wing conspiracy based in the cities that is destroying the country.” Trump, as he has done before, has made the villain a minority group. He has sought, once again, to fabricate emergencies to justify greater powers for himself. He has proposed postponing elections. He has refused to commit to honoring the results of the election. And now, he proposes to embrace violence if he doesn’t win. “It’s important not to talk about this as just an election,” Snyder said. “It’s an election surrounded by the authoritarian language of a coup d’etat. The opposition has to win the election and it has to win the aftermath of the election.”

Now today in Atlanta Trump said he was joking about not accepting the loss if he loses. Does he think we are this stupid?

I'm sure he knows what he's doing. He says something, gets attention, then claims it's a joke while people had less time to pay attention to something else.

200,000 dead, and allegedly the virus doesn't affect a lot of people.

The irony is that his supporters are scared of the "socialists" yet their leader has taken over the Republican party and turned it into something totally different than what it was a few years ago. While using language you don't associate with democratically elected leaders.

over 203k now as of today.

Yep because they simply do not understand the word. They don't understand the word facist either because if they did they'd be terrified of what Trump is saying.

How to subvert an election (maybe the most important 10,000 words you'll ever read):

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/11/what-if-trump-refuses-concede/616424/

Thanks for posting this. The Atlantic really does some fantastic reporting sometimes. Got me to change my mind about voting in person.

So Trump the last 2 years paid $750 in taxes. Avoided income tax for a decade and is hundreds of millions in the crapper. Raise your hand if you saw that one coming.

Its long, and its dense, but there are clear indications of tax fraud, fraud, and fiduciary mismanagement. Either he is a huge tax cheat or a terrible businesman....or both, I guess.  This isnt just using good business sense and tax loopholes to reduce your obligations. Some of the stuff (stiffing creditors and not declaring the unpaid money as income, the consultency discrepencies, etc) is just outright tax fraud. And i will bet you money we will hear crickets from most republicans. More evidence Trump is just this generations PT Barnum...but 100x worse.

SDNY is just waiting for the moment he's a private citizen again. He will be indicted and charged almost immediately. I also see clear emoluments violations.

They need to reveal the source and the documents.  Not buying they need to protect the person's identity or that somebody hasn't committed a crime.

The law is quickly closing in on the Trump Crime Family. That only gives him more incentive to subvert the election and buy another 4 years of Barr protecting his criminal thug ass.

LAW AND ORDER.

That slogan is for everyone else.

Especially where Democrats are in power.

Sure does.

His supporters won't care that he didn't pay his fare share in taxes.  I mean...look at their support for his "tax cut".

What they MAY care about is the fact that he's basically been living the life of a billionaire largely on the taxpayers dime for the past 20 years.  That "tax magic" he's pulling is the only thing keeping money in his bank accounts. Not only is he not paying his fair share, he's basically causing THEIR fair share to increase.  All those objections to people "working" the social safety net (in their eyes) now get to see the fact their guy is basically doing the same thing.  It's just the tax system instead of the welfare system.  And his example isn't just theory crafting about all those bad (typically minority, in their minds) people living on the dole....he has been caught red handed. And I STILL doubt they acknowledge this or speak up about it.  Because they simply will not and can not acknowledge when the Emperor has no clothes. Doing so would finally shatter their world view and wake them up to an uncomfortable reality: Trump is a terrible human being, a terrible businessman, and a terrible president. He's a pretty good con man, though. And they bought the snake oil.

And, while his BASE might not care about his lack of paying taxes....many of the indies who voted for him in 2016...while holding their noses because they didn't like Hillary (or they "just wanted to give him a chance") now have ONE more reason to vote for anyone else.

His dishonesty has been at the forefront of the campaign lately...and this just puts another example of his dishonesty in front of voters.

Dishonesty? Is that like alternative facts?  hihi

The whole idea of "I don't think they could do that" or "I can't imagine them sinking that low" has stopped existing, when relating to this president and his party, a long time ago.

So much of what's come out in recent years would've made the heads at Fox News implode multiple times over, if it had happened during Obama's time in the White House. But now it's just another story, another lie, another thousand dead, another statistic.....

They're already doing the mental gymnastics to justify it. They're calling him genius, saying well there's nothing illegal in there. There's nothing about Russia.
