I'll be getting my covid booster shot on November 3rd.
Am I suppose to get that if I'm not 65 and no risk factors? My six months is up at the end of this month. Personally I want the same company I got my first shot from to be the same one for the booster. Didn't have a reaction to that one and if we end up in class action lawsuits, I just want to be involved with one company.

So much for thinking. The news was saying something last night about it being better to mix companies when getting the booster. Hopefully the place I got the first round send me an email to schedule again.

I went to a pop up site so I'll probably just go to the pharmacy.
I've had two people hear me cough and immediately ask with concern if I have a cold. I know they've had colds going through their households. I'm wondering if there is something I missed and people are suppose to be freaking out over the common cold or if people have become more aware of passing things on to others. I haven't been sick since I left work and know sick people coming to work were the reason I got whatever was going around.

The news is misleading you.
Pfizer/Pfizer/Moderna and/or Moderna/Moderna/Pfizer don't really yield statistically significant increases in protection or resistance vs a "pure" 2 dose/1 booster regimen. They might increase durability SLIGHTLY. Thsoe combinations, though, are about availability. Basically, take the mrna booster thats available and don't worry about who made it.
Where you see significant difference is a JJ/JJ/mrna (either of them..Pfizer or Modera as that booster) approach. And yes, that means a JJ 2nd dose first, THEN a booster in 6 months. There is a significant increase (>5%) difference in protection and resistance and a SIGNIFICANT boost in durability vs JJ/JJ alone.

It's the hassle of the cold right now. Most people don't understand that COVID symptoms are different than the common cold. If they hear you sneezing , and snuffling, and coughing, they want you to get a COVID test or assume you are sick with that virus. They don't understand that nasal congestion is an uncommon symptom in COVID.
If you work in certain environments (or if you travel for work), those symptoms can create havoc. It's unfortunate, but true.

My mom thinks everything is covid now. I got sick last month and she made me get a test. It was negative. I was like i don't have covid.

I'm not eligible for the booster according to the pharmacy. Not old enough, not sick and don't work.

Everyone will be eligible at some point, just like with the initial rollout.

Yeah and I can wait. I'll be in the house for the winter, just me and the cats.
I almost feel guilty for not working. Employers are screaming for employees. The feds must have suspended the requirement to look for and take work for the welfare programs. Tyson chicken walked into the welfare office in a small county and offered employment to all the folks on food stamps required to take jobs in their chicken slaughtering plant. No interview, you're hired. Everyone who didn't show up to kill chickens got kicked off food stamps. I was horrified. People who objected to that type of work lost the fair hearing and remained ineligible. I would have showed up for the job, cried and puked my way through the day.

I have underlying conditions, so that's why i can get it so soon. It is actually great timing. I'm going to another concert on the 20th. So i'll be fully boostered by then.
I could never do that kind of work. I don't think i could bring myself to kill an animal of any kind.

You still have to wear the mask at the concert?
So the Republican next door
, quietly said he was going to cave and get the shot if he has to to keep his Boeing job. We've been exploring his options if he did quit. Really he was looking for a fight and I was just feeding him all the reasons he could justify giving up on his principals. Save a little face. Although it looks like Boeing is going to give a little bit and allow weekly testing as an option.

My friend who went to the Stones arena concert said there was a mask rule but once he got inside nobody cared or enforced it.
Do you really want to know?
My neighbor thinks there is metal in the vaccine. Some how that is going to kill all of us in 5 years because "they" want to reduce the world population and some how this leads to one world government and of course it is socialist. I remind him he sprays that secret paint formula that blocks radar. If spraying paint in small spaces wasn't bad enough, who knows what's in that shit. You took Boeing's word for it that was safe. I'm betting there is more scientific knowledge with the vaccine then there is with exposure to that paint. Maybe that paint is starting to wear on his brain.
