Jarmo, thanks for responding. I'll take a gamble and head over I think. Let me know if anything changes.

It will be my 50th show and would be cool to grab it on the last leg of the tour.  peace

You might miss the end of the show, or lots of it, though.

You'll have to be at the airport in advance and get there. That's a couple of hours before midnight....

I'm assuming there might be an opening act before GN'R. So GN'R would probably go on after 7pm at the earliest. Add three hours and we're looking at past 10pm.....

Guns N' Roses Donating Funds From First-Ever Hawaii Show to Andy Irons Foundation: Exclusive

12/3/2018 by Taylor Mims

The band will play Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Dec. 8

Guns N’ Roses will donate a portion of the proceeds from their first-ever show in Hawaii to the Andy Irons Foundation, Billboard can reveal. The legendary rock band will play Aloha Stadium on Dec. 8 as part of their Not In This Lifetime tour.

The Andy Irons Foundation is a charitable organization created in honor of the late surfing legend who was born in Hawaii and went on to win three world titles in the sport between 2002-2004. After Irons passed away in November of 2010, his wife Lyndie Irons created the foundation in his name to raise awareness and institute programs for young people pertaining to mental health, drug recovery, and learning disabilities.

“It is such an honor to partner with Guns N' Roses for their first ever show in Hawaii,” Lyndie Irons said in a release. “As Andy sought solace through music, my goal with the Andy Irons Foundation is to offer hope and vital programs for young people struggling with mental illness, drug abuse, and learning disabilities. I am truly grateful for such an amazing experience with one of Andy's all-time favorite bands.”

In addition to being a top-ranking surfer, Andy Irons was a passionate music fan. Andy and Lyndie’s son Axel, named in honor of Axl Rose, will be turning eight years old on the day of Guns N’ Roses’ Dec. 8 show.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold to Guns N’ Roses’ historic concert at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium will be given to AIF and will mark their only U.S. show in 2018.

Guns N’ Roses’ Not In This Lifetime tour kicked off in 2016 and has already played more than 150 dates across the globe to more than five million fans. This year, the band has played 13 stadiums along with five summer festival headlining slots across Europe. Produced by Live Nation, the trek visited Asia for six stops in November.

The Not In This Lifetime tour was named one of the top five grossing tours of all time earlier this year based on Billboard Boxscore archives. The band had grossed more than $475 million prior to their 2018 dates.

They had another great run this year. It will be interesting to see where they fall on the all time list of highest grossing tours once the final numbers come in. Just awesome.

Why is this not sold out then.

Price of tickets probably....and the fact the tour means most people havseen the show now.

I was pretty surprised to see front pit tickets left though when I looked. I'd love to be there!

But people living in Hawaii don't probably move around so much and they don't have that many events coming their way like there isn't much professional sports like everywhere else on the mainland. So this should be a big one.

Overpriced is probably the answer.

There's not that many people live in Hawaii (1.4 million) and only 350,000 in Honolulu don't forget. Its not a big country....

what happens now that the tour is coming to an end, with Slash booked up until late 2019 with his side project will GnR continue in its current line-up will they go into the studio and try and do an album surely the time is right for them to move on and try something different as opposed to constantly doing the nostalgia  tours .I'm sure Axl has a massive vault of material that the others could work on and if Izzy was brought back in they could put out some really great songs we live In hope

I think the chances of Izzy returning are slim to none. He hasn't been a part of the band for many, many years now and seems to be happy with it being that way. As a fan, I'm more than happy with the band as it is now.

That was a case of stubborn fools being stubborn fools.  They knew the second they could patch it up, $BIG DOLLAZ$ was a guarantee.  All they had to do was get along well enough to play songs they already wrote 25-30 years ago.

This?  Not the same thing.  They haven't worked together in a creative capacity in 25 plus years.  You have 2 guys who are super ambitious, and one guy that hasn't shown creative ambition in at least 15 years.  That's going to come together now, out of nowhere?

That's a hard sell.

Izzy played with GnR in 2012 on a good few gigs nobody saw that happening and certainly nobody in their wildest dreams saw Slash and Axl getting on stage together after such a long gap of bitterness and mud slinging, but who knows what lies ahead after the reunion tour anything is possible.

There's a massive leap between getting together on stage and playing songs and being in a studio creating new material. That takes bands that have been working together  uninterrupted a long, long time, let alone ones that haven't.

Good to remain optimistic, but it's crazy to think they're going to go into a studio and just bang out an album quickly. Even if they cancelled all their other plans and did nothing but focus on writing and recording in a studio I still believe it would be at least a few years away, if it ever even saw the light of day.

Exactly right.

I'd also add that if Slash and Duff have commitments all through 2019, that not only knocks out that year, you have to also assume they'd want a little downtime afterwards too.

So I think, at best, you are talking a starting point for a new album somewhere in 2020.

I think it more likely there is another tour in 2021 or 2022 - Guns N' Roses : Why The Hell Not, Right?

I'd go with this being the most likely scenario....with a live album maybe being released in the interim period.

When the band say "we're concentrating on the tour" that's exactly what they're doing. It's very odd that people expect a new album to appear out of nowhere, suddenly. That disregards not only GNR history, but also it's present. There seemed to be an expectation that one night of the tour they'd just reel out a brand new song....written and recorded where? Mid-flight from one city to another?!

I'm totally at a loss to see why anyone would expect an album anytime remotely soon. A cover version....again, maybe. There might be some truth in the T-Rex cover rumour, but even recording and producing that will take time.
