Seeing Slash playing 'Estranged' live again was the absolute highlight of the NITL tour for me.

yep....Coma, Locomotive and Estranged...wow.  Shocked

Any Gnr fan who questions the Axl/Slash songwriting combination and it's potential for new Guns material needs to turn in their Gnr fan badge.  ok

Its like a crazy jungle theme song with a lot of funky stuff. Great one to dance.

This can be clearly seen. I live abroad and sometimes you just miss home but get the feeling of it.

Estranged.

Because of the lyrics. But the opening lyrics especially:
When you're talkin' to yourself
And nobody's home
You can fool yourself
You came in this world alone
(Alone)

The video also did wonders for the song. Slash' playing in the water like jesus was awesome. Axl struggling against the waves and jumping off ship, epic.

"Estranged".

A couple reasons...

2. It's brilliantly written and is such an incredibly diverse piece of music.  It's over 9 minutes long and it keeps successfully reinventing itself.  That's nearly impossible to do but "Estranged" makes it sound effortless.

1. I can absolutely lose myself in Slash's guitar solos.  I've always said they were the best solos in rock n roll history and classic examples of how great Slash really is.

"One in a Million"

I know I'll be the weirdo, and especially in these pc days, but this is one of my fave GnR songs. That song's honesty, rawness, boldness and just flat out agressiveness really makes me feel a lot. I don't feel connected to any of its subjects, other than that I am a gay man so I could be offended. But I am not. It's a time document, and its build up to its final chorus and then the emotional relief is so 'One in a million'. I don't think a song like this exists, so I appreciate it for its uniqueness.

At the same time: "Estranged" and "November Rain"  love . I have been listening to these two for over 25 years now and I NEVER get tired of them. Ever. Those solos are some of the best in music history. WTTJ or SCOM I need to skip at times cause I am bored by them by now. But not Estranged and NR.

Lyrics aside, I've always felt that OIAM was a very generic song. I almost feel like the lyrics were made to be controversial because the song itself didn't have much to offer besides a nice solo.

As there's not too much going on at the moment......

If you had to choose one GNR song, as a favourite - what would it be? I'm interested to hear people's choices.....

It's Estranged for me.
