China?! Wow.

I'm amazed at that. It's notoriously difficult for any band to play there- submission of all lyrics and setlista before appro al is standard I think- so given the song 'chinese democracy' alone I'm surprised they were granted approval. That will be an interesting show for sure- I imagine the setlist will have to be altered.

From Wikipedia: Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China and maintains a separate legislature, executive, and judiciary from the rest of the country.

Yep, things work differently there. I landed in Hong Kong and had to travel to Shenzhen in a car, got stopped in the bridge between the cities by the Chinese border guards to check our visas. It's very much like a different country.

I had no idea that was the case. Thanks for filling me in.

It's good to see the tour getting to places that are bit off the tradional touring routes- and great for fans in those places that want to see the show of course.

don't forget they already played in HK in summer 2002, it was their first show of the year. it's just not widely known much, because no bootleg of the show has ever circulated.

I have visited both Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Yes, they have nothing to do with China proper. That country just happens to be around there as well.

I wonder if GNR can squeeze in visits visits to Oz, NZ and Japan in October and early November. AD is the last gig so maybe time to head over to India and South Africa late November and early December. I know there were rumours of Las Vegas shows for New Year previously, maybe this year..great that GNR keep touring.

I'm not sure if India is able to handle a gig of this magnitude.

Surely, they have big cricket games all the time with very large attendances but it is chaotic and pure madness.

This tour seems to be about hitting places in Asia that didn't get to see GN'R in 2017. So a return to Australia, New Zealand and Japan seems less likely.

Also, Slash has solo shows booked in September and October....

Scream Park at Sunway Lagoon.  Slash and Del have to be pretty psyched about this venue.    Cheesy  (Now I know where I am.)

Hoping for some US dates!

Seems unlikely based on comments made by Fernando on Nightrain.

Was there anything else of note mentioned? I've let my Nightrain membership lapse at present (finances are a little tight!)
