Unfortunately, and this is obviously just my opinion, but if a 'deluxe edition box set/repacked gnr songs with a few things thrown in' is released, it will mean that any new album will be then pushed back for at least 12-18 months to let the hype/hunger and anticipation build up again.

I hope i'm wrong, and this isn't just a repackaged album, but rather a monumental release containing all new songs that came out a little after the whole same bat time, same bat channel.

Why not? If they are reisuing, it features two past members of the band as it is. The 1998 AFD, if it still exista, would be a nice addition.

I have no problem with it, and I would like to hear it, but it seemed to bother some people when they heard that New GNR had re-recorded an album that many people hold sacred in its original form.

Hopefully this is an "Appetite" box set type thing with a bunch of extra tracks/demos and not just a remaster.  Also very glad to see Im not the first person who wants to hear the late 90's Appetite that they recorded.  Honestly having that included would probably excite me the most.  Never understood people who are so against hearing it, whats the big deal?    I loved the rerecorded part of "Sweet Child" from Big Daddy.

Will you guys just give it a fucking rest, the 1998 AFD is something that we will never have a chance to listen to, unless someone breaks into Axl's (physical? virtual?) music vault.

My bet is a re-issue, which would be cool IMO.

I so hope this band starts looking to the future at some point before it's too late, meaning new music, new styles, and specially, to completely leave behind the nostalgia.

This thing can mean 2 things:

- A new release AFD related (a remastering, a re-recording, a non-touched AFD in a box full of collectable items) > completely innecesary to my eyes
- A ''full reunion'', which would be a fantastic choice to keep doing easy money and make one or two more complete world tours, but a catastrophe regarding the live sound of the band.

The exciting times of new music, new sounds (remember when ''Chicken Dinner'' popped up for the first time?), unpredictable behaviours, setlists, and overall attitude are gone for good.

Im not too interested in a remaster of appetite. It still sounds great, and dosent need to be messed with.

Im very interested on hearing the 1999 version of appetite. Actually im interested in hearing  any unheard finished recordings.

Some seem to have the mentality that nothing is better then something they don't want. Personally I'm excited. Something is better than nothing. Especially in the world of being a GN'R fan.

People are talking again. Plus we got an European tour coming up, and now this, whatever it turns out to be.
