My take on this show.
The setlist says it all. A band on fire, having a good time. I almost couldn't believe it when I heard the first notes from Sorry. And when Axl said there were time for a couple of more after The Seeker, I realised this was gonna be fullfilled (my girl wished for Patience).
And I have to say: fuck all the "same old setlist"-discussions. I have checked the setlists for every show on this tour, and knew about how the show would go. But to be there and experience it is just so crazy, and the machinery is so well- oiled, that it don't really matter. So be happy for us Europeans who finally got to see the NITL-tour.
So, some of the many highlights for me:
The whole build-up with the guns firing, the intro music and McBob's "you wanted the best, but Abba couldn't fucking make it" was awesome. The roof almost lifted: )
Axl's good mood! Joking, smiling and wearing the Viking hat.
Duff McKagan
Coma - can't figure out all the bad reviews of the song in Swedish newspapers.
The Seeker kicked ass! You could see and feel how much Axl love that song.
And of course how perfect everything is, sounds and looks. Some sound troubles here and there though, for example during Better. But I don't think Friends Arena was as bad as I was warned.
Backyard Babies were great. Loved them a long time, and to see them in this huge setting at their "home court" was great. Wish they could play longer.
Darkness was alright too. The vocals were a bit weak/low. Hawkins communicates well with the audience, joking and showing of his voice
Now I hope there will be more shows here in Europe next year.
