My guess is they were. There's been a number of bands or solo artists who performed there because of the money and just the opportunity in general. (It's not necessarily a destination place you think of when planning a vacation but . . .). Also, boxers, like Manny Pac, fight there a lot because of the extra revenues.

I'm not saying they wouldn't play there without the extra coin but it probably doesn't hurt.
