I mean Axl Rose is the greatest snake-oil salesman on the planet and I admit that, as often as I've noticed it happening to others, when he sold it directly to me I bought it right up believing he was being 100% genuine with me!!!

You know how for decades Axl has repeatedly said that each show is ONLY for that specific audience right in front of him and NOT for any of us following online?  Yesterday's show and this pinata thing is IMO exactly what he means. 

He knew exactly what to do to give THAT audience the best possible experience. 

And I believe he has always done that.  One example is the tour where he wore the sports jersey of each individual city GNR played.  Cynics whined how much they hated it and that he did it to hide 'self' issues but ask anyone who attended any one of those shows and they will exuberantly tell you that one of the top highlights of that show was that Axl Rose was wearing THEIR jersey!!!  (he wore Derek Jeter's #2 Yankees jersey to mine because Axl loves me and knew how much I love Derek and the Yankees!!! )

Same thing with National Flags.  Throw a flag on stage and Axl will pick it up and, respectfully, wrap it around his shoulders for half a second and to that audience.. voil?... best show ever!!!

And Axl does the best 'Conrad Dobler' .... he sets everything in motion... eggs on someone with the appropriate mindset like Del last night ... then Axl steps back laughingly watching it all unfold... and then steps back in to put a halt to it and continue on with the show.

To his credit, Axl finds a way to make each show personal for only that audience.
