In spite of the NR piano, I still think the Houston show was the best Axl has sounded in a long time.  I am curious to know if it is just me, or did his rasp come out old school most of the show.

I do admit the Space City vids were best ever, but his voice reminded me of 2010 Duff show in UK!!!!

Also, the way Axl laughed during NR piano was near belly laugh.  I was cracking up watching him.

This is not a post for complaints, but opinions on best show of this tour.  (I fully realize going to the show makes it way better, but I went to NJ show on 23rd, and as sick as it was, Houston takes the cake for me.)

I think it's really hard to answer this without having been AT every single show.....

I'm going to take the 23rd at MetLife.

As "charming" as some found the issues in Houston, and as nice as it was to have CITR in the encore, for pure crowd energy and band musicality, if I were putting out a DVD of a show, that's the one I'd go with.

But I'm admittedly basing my choice off a comparison of "there" vs "watching 'net vids", which is probably not 100% fair.

I was at that show in 10th row.  I agree.  The crowd was amazing.  His voice in Houston was even another notch, and I have LOVED this entire tour so far.

Thanks for posting.  I am curious.

I assume most people will pick the show they went to, which is natural.

And I'm no different.  I think Philly got a great show.  I think the bootleg of that one stands up just fine to any of them this summer.

But Axl was also as happy as I can recall.  All smiles and tickling his lead guitarist.

The great thing is that they have all been "GREAT" shows. For a group of guys meaning the Big 3 who have not played together in what 23 years they haven't missed a beat.

I've been to 4 shows this year - Vegas first night, Coachella weekend one, Philly in July and first Metlife night.

Metlife hands down blew the other three away but just by looking at all of the shows this year you really cant complain!

on a random side note - last minute I picked up tickets for Paul McCartney at Metlife last night and let me tell you that 74 year old man can still bring it! amazing! and during live and let die I thought it was GNR with all the pyro!!! Rock on guys i'm hoping to check a show on the Latin America tour this fall! need those commission checks to roll in!

I have to go with the show that I went to. MetLife on July 23rd.  The energy of that show was off the hook.

The "tickle tickle" moment might be my favorite moment of the entire tour....

Absolutely the best thing.

Have not seen any reviews that said they didn't have it that night.  Or, even worse, ones that say seeing them will only tarnish your memory of a once great band.

I agree being there makes it a totally different experience... so my vote is obviously for Gillette, as I was there and they were two of the longer shows of the tour and it was the first Slash performance of CITR (night two)... the low attendance of the second show affected the 'feel' of the crowd... but night one was amazing.

Each show I've seen on this tour is special in one way or another. The first Vegas show was amazing just because it was the first show I'd seen Axl, Slash and Duff live in person. Not to mentioned they played "Coma" and "DTJ" which blew my mind. It was also interesting to see Axl sitting on Dave Grohl's Throne.

The second Vegas show was great too and I think the band got better which is natural when playing with a group of people.

The DC show was epic because I got to see Axl jog around the stage. I think each show gets better and better. I can't wait to see the band continue to play throughout this year. If you haven't seen them yet live do yourself and favor and go. I already can't wait to see GNR play again. Hoping for more US dates next year.

In conclusion, it's hard to pick one. If I was forced to pick one I guess the first Vegas show. Not to sound cheesy, but it was a magical night.
