You'd think that a "real" news article like this would spell the lead singer's name correctly.   Roll Eyes

Axl has gotten better press in 2016 than he has since...well, since maybe ever.

Even at his UYI prime, he was seen a juvenile asshole.  You might have to go back to 1988 or so to see when he was last spoken about as favorably as he's been in 2016.

If Axl didn't have the ego maniac rock star persona from day 1... This site would not exist.

It is part of who he is ... Stop whining about the reputation he has .. There would be no GNR without everything that comes with Axl and what made him who he is.

I totally agree.

I also think you really have to work the persecution complex pretty hard this year.  It's just one good review after another, from all corners.

Agree

I have stopped being bothered about some media painting Axl as a "madman". As you say there are now overwhelmingly more positive reports from the media, more than ever I think. People have more access to the media, and I think the casual fans are seeing right through theses "negative" reports. Likely more than a million people will see GN'R live in the US this year, they will form their own opinions... it will be a positive one. Guaranteed.

The large majority of these reviews are hugely positive... I think most people need to get used to the fact that most of the writers and tv media members (especially the local ones we read after each of the individual nights) does not care about 01-14... for the most part they are either pretending it doesn't exist or really do not know the volume of shows played over that time frame... You are going to see a lot of 'first area show in 23 years' type headlines. Embrace the positivity unlike anything we've seen since the UYI era and be happy... there is always going to be a shot here or there about the CD tunes or CD era members. Bitching about it after each of the next 20 something shows isn't going to change it (definition of insanity and all)
