Every time a show goes past I get more jumpy about the lack of any mention of shows in Europe. It HAS to happen! Not one or two festivals - their own show, somewhere. If I just knew they were coming over at some point, even if I didn't know the dates, i could relax, but I'm just not sure it's going to happen. Got a funny feeling it might just be this.

Btw reported attendance was 41,000. Judging by other shows there that is pretty close to the average attendance. Other shows averaged between 42-50,000 was the most. Even Beyonce managed about 42,000 last week. So i would say the stadium was more then 90% sold out.

As much as I loved every post-Slash show I saw, and I did appreciate being able to see my favorite band in smaller venues, it is awesome to see Guns n Fuckin Roses play a show for a massive stadium crowd. They're back, baby, and kickin ass on a big scale! The next few days can't pass fast enough--last time I saw GnR in DC was the GnR/Metallica/Faith No More. It's great to see the band reclaim the throne (although as far as I'm concerned, any version of GnR has always been the best band out there)
110% agreed!, I especially was find if the last incarnation of GNR.....I relished in having front row during the Up Close and Personal tour as well as the surprise show at the Brooklyn Bowl and am excited to see them at a football stadium...

Wow ...

As great as the April shows were ...

Having Axl off the throne takes it to a whole new level ! I am so stoked about the whole summer. The biggest baddest band in the whole wide world.

Now we just gotta convince them to leave The Seeker at home ! Grin

Quick Question:  I can't watch any of the clips just now but were the tempo's slowed down a bit, i wasn't a massive fan of the 100MPH tempos.  Was Slash a bit higher in the mix than the previous shows?

I caught most of the show on Periscope and I couldn't believe how much it sounded and felt like one of the stadium shows from 91-93!!! It sounded fantastic!

The tempo was the same as the April shows. Slash's mix sounded fine to me judging by the fantastic Out Ta Get Me video (which was in Richard's side of the stage), he was loud and clear.

well, I am a fan of The Seeker  Kiss.....that being said, had tears in my eyes this morning listening to Estranged...hits me on about 20 different levels. However, only thoughts were Ax/Slash being Estranged for too long. Damn...pretty badass. Can you imagine when they play that together how they feel? Gotta be tough.

For me, Estranged will always be their best song they've ever written.

Just hit me that there was no Patience ... Kinda odd as it was used in the promo clips..It's weird that after the excitement of checking the periscopes and seeing how well the first night went I just now am hit with the fact they didn't do it last night, but I am sure it will be there as we go on.

I had a little trouble trying to see the content, there was nothing but the picture and the related news. Found out it was my adblock, turned it off and the text showed up.

That's a very nice review. The lead sums it up:

The group's Not in This Lifetime tour, which launched in Detroit last night, left the earlier Guns N' Roses classic reunion dates ? a warmup gig in Los Angeles in April, then a few Las Vegas shows, with a double weekend at Coachella to top it off ? feeling like nothing but mere practice.

That's great!
I agree, even if I was just watching a blurry screen, in my pajama, from my couch.
