So I'm commenting strictly from viewing videos on YouTube (which are very exciting)..but a small part of me hopes the stage/show will be different come the stadium tour. I just find the large graphic screen a bit naff. I think classic GN'R would suit a "mega" light show like Queen use rather than the graphics & bombs.

Admittedly I haven't viewed the show for real but what do you guys think?? It should be a no expense spared set and thus far it looks a little cheap for my taste.

I wonder about the Coachella stage.

Looking at previous years, the stage hasn't look anything like this year's, with those MASSIVE side-screens curving to the inside of the stage.

The graphics GN'R used seemed to be tailored to those screens as well, with maximum utilization. Could it be that some of this stage-setup is part of the one intended for the stadium dates in the US?

I'm guessing there is a ramp out into the audience planned that was axed from Vegas/Mexico due to the broken foot.

I'm hoping for a bigger stage setup with ramps, etc for the stadium shows. Something spectacular would be nice

Slash told Eddie Trunk they'll have a different stage for the stadium tour and this current one is only temporary. He didn't say how different tho.

I loved the Coachella giant screens. GNR's graphics were only just okay. They should really hire Ice Cube's graphics guy though, his stuff was amazing. Or get Rob Sheridan from NIN or Sean Evans who did Roger Waters' Wall.

Interesting comment, I was thinking the same thing after looking at the stage design at Soldier Field and Ford Field. Stage definitely looks smaller than usual. GNR's songs and presence are so big and iconic and larger than life, they need a big, larger than life stage to "match" their stage presence.
I hope Axl plans on running around and dancing in his usual manner once his foot heals. Although, it is nice to hear an Axl who never gets "winded." I wonder if he notices a difference in his singing ability? Is he like . . . . holy shit . . . this singing for 2 1/2 hours is much easier when I just sit on my ass!
But, overall, I miss the crazy, dancing, swaying, groovin Axl. Actually, starting to pine for the moving Axl. The novelty of the "Grohl Throne" is wearing off and I miss the crazy mother fucker running around like a mad man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osRLMOJ0cW4
Rest and get well Axl.

No way he's gonna run around like he used to. He's 50+ now, can't do that anymore, he's gonna run out of breath and it'll affect his singing

I'm thinking they should tone down some of the graphics and flashing lights. Seems to be a bit distracting.
I love the falling bullets and roses, and the computerized "Skull" images are perfect!! So not all of the graphics are bad, but some of them just seem distracting. Some of them are just weird and "trip" like images from The Wall or something.
They should show some vintage black and white photos of the band while they play Yesterdays, similar to the video itself. Could add to the powerful spirit of nostalgia.

Anyone else think the graphics and lights are a bit much?

Well, it looked awesome in person.

The way the screens line-up between the drum riser and the background looks ace.  Not distracting at all.

I was always a fan of the UYI stage.

I liked the stage design, but hated the lighting set-up.

That stage was dark as shit.  It was like they were trying to save a few bucks or something.

I like the long run outs where Axl and Slash could come all the way out in to the middle of the stadium... doesn't look like it's too long in this set up doe.

I got no complaints with the stage and screens they just used. All cool stuff.

I believe the Coachella stage set up was only used there. The curved video screens weren't used elsewhere.

Without knowing anything, you would assume that a bigger space, such as a stadium, needs a bigger stage.  Huh
