Would you want a MTV Unplugged?

Seems like MTV wants to talk about music again. One of their plans is to bring back the Unplugged show, now looking for other over-the-top plataforms:
http://mashable.com/2016/04/21/mtv-unplugged-returning/?utm_cid=mash-com-Tw-main-link#7J46ZcLpOiq3
I know the band played several songs unplugged back in the 90s, but it wasn't really stripped down versions (save for KOHD) and in the surprise club gigs in 2006 and 2010. But still, this would be a more "official" unplugged with maybe rearranged songs.
Would you want the band to do that sometime in the future?

Very much so!
Not like the Bridge School acoustic versions though, but rather some re-arrangement specially for an acoustic performance.

Not really. I'm one of those who doesn't prefer unplugged versions of songs like GNR's. The stuff on
GNR Lies
was great because it sounded like that's the manner those songs should've been recorded. But trying to perform "Welcome to the Jungle" unplugged doesn't do it for me.

I agree, in principle.
But then again, I liked that acoustic 'Mr. Brownstone' and 'Move To The City' from CBGB's back in the day.
And their version of 'Dead Flowers' was great. Much prefer it to the Stones version.

Yeah. MTV which stands for Meathead Television now....
Has lost it's way a long long time ago.
I'd love a sit down, chilled short chats in between songs. So a 14-16 song set... not every song would work in this setting. Paradise City might actually work slowed down lol.. Jungle would not.
I think a slowed down re-arranged "Civil War" would give me goosebumps.
A lot of the songs would have to be re-arranged I think, but I'd enjoy it. Dead Flowers, Patience obviously would be in there I think. November Rain too. Would be killer.
Do a live broadcast of it, release it on CD/DVD combo for 20 bucks and watch it fly off the shelves.

It sounds "strange" if they do the songs the same way they usually do, only on acoustic guitars.
If they do re-arrangements to sort of re-make the song as an acoustic, I think there could be some really interesting things.

I heard the Slash and Myles Kennedy versi?n of Civil War. Myles didn't do any justice to the song. But maybe now Slash, Duff and Axl can make the proper re-arrangements and it could sound really good

They have plenty, there's no need to perform songs that wouldn't fit.
To me, the setlist choice was crucial in both Alice in Chains and Nirvana Unplugged albums. They didn't try to push too hard to just play the same songs just with accoustic guitars. It was actually well thought.

I'd like to see an acoustic set of their bluesier numbers (14 Years, etc.), and a load of old bluesy covers from bands like the Flamin' Groovies and the Stones.

Yes! Stripped down with acoustic and piano. Axl uses his deeper register. Use his smoother, honey with a fleck of dirt in it croon/voice. Subtle rasp, a little gravelly scratchy rasp, but not too much.
Wild Horses (Stones)
Tennessee Whiskey (David Allan Coe/George Jones)
A Good Year for the Roses (George Jones/Elvis Costello)
Honky Tonk Women (Stones)
You Ain't the First
Used to Love Her
You're Crazy
Dust N Bones
14 Years
Dead Flowers (Stones)
Mother/Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd)
Only Women Bleed (Alice Cooper)
It's Alright (Sabbath)
Madagascar
Sailing (Rod Stewart)
Patience

Yeah Myles is a good singer, but he sings 1 style really well. Overall I don't care for him.
LIke after 4-5 songs I get kinda tired of his voice. With Axl I never get tired.
I bet Civil War acoustic with Axl would kill man.

Great setlist, but a bit too heavy on covers.
I think most of CD ballads would work well enough unplugged. Catcher and TWAT would sound just fine.
From the old ones, Id like to see them trying stuff like Breakdown and even rearrange b-sides like Think About You - imagine what they did with You're Crazy. Or maybe bring back unreleased stuff like Ain't Going Down and even Crash Diet (always loved the song).

Another acoustic gig would be cool - but they don't need MTV to do it.

No they dont. But it could be cool because we would get the broadcast.
And if MTV really wants to be about music again, they should totally try to work on it.

You would go to a guns n roses show and actually like them to perform 50% of the set list as covers? This sounds horrible to me
