Coma is a pretty deep cut...hardcores know it but I would imagine most of the people at these shows don't.

Anyhow, I do think 4 cd tracks is a bit much.

I would think the overwhelming majority of people at these shows have no idea about any song off of CD.

I don't know if it's about playing songs because of an "outrage".

I think it's because they want to play them - no matter what the reason is. I am just happy that the band sounds pretty tight, Axl is sounding awesome and the shows are selling well. More than I could have imagined to happen.

Perhaps, I didn't explain myself well.  I can actually use your post to illustrate my point.

That part is bold is far and away what is important here.  I think this is a great time to be a GNR fan and we should be happy and enjoying it.

My fear would be that if CD was completely ignored, there would be a segment of fans that took serious issue with that.  And every show thread would be polluted with battles between people that think their exclusion is a travesty of justice vs. the people that give precisely zero fucks they weren't being played.

If the price for fan harmony is to play a few of those tunes, then I say, yes...play a few of those tunes.  Keep the maximum amount of people happy.

Remember the alternative songs from the April 9 Vegas setlist?

They were:

Nice Boys
Think About You
Used To Love Her
Yesterdays
TWAT

Heres the setlist from Mexico City:

Perfect Crime and Out Ta Get Me are there as well..

I'm thinking they may have rehearsed lots and lots of songs, then choose which ones to put up as alternatives for each single show. Meaning the alternative-list can change from show to show, opening up for songs we haven't seen on any list yet.

Thanks for that picture. I'm happy to know that Out Ta Get Me and Perfect Crime are in a list. I hope at some point they replace two CD songs

Even with Axl sounding better, I still think 'Perfect Crime' is a tough ask.

Well these first batch of shows... a lot of die hards travelled from all over the world to Coachella and Vegas... we all got a kick out of the CD songs ..especially seeing them performed by Slash.

This summer... I think there will be A LOT more fans that never gave CD a chance... they won't care as much for them. They will be there to see Axl and Slash do Jungle, SCOM and PC. I am going with a group of 10 people to the Metlife show... 7 of them won't know the name of any song other than those three and November Rain.

Yeah I mean there's no problem with a cap of 4 CD songs. I really really hope they don't go over that.

Guns N' Roses have a grand total of 50 songs from studio stuff pre Nu Gn'R and 15 songs post Nu Gn'R

I think their will always be a more songs grabbed from that 50 pool for obvious reasons.

Here's Axl's setlist from the first night at Foro Sol.

Notice that both Coma and TWAT are in the main set. TWAT might have been dropped due to time constraints?

Maybe it's not unthinkable that both songs will be played at a future show...

I agree with you.
Just like the situation we have now that people are complaining about maybe too many CD songs there would have been an outcry of people if there wasn't at least 1 song off CD. Pretty sure it would have been that way.
Although I do like CD, I wouldn't count myself to those people who would have complained. I simply enjoy the time now.

Right now it is much easier to be a GN'R fan than a couple of years ago. Smiley

The setlist they've been playing is a overall pleasing one. They are playing all of the hits/popular songs and a couple fan favs. "Coma" being in there really just adds a new level. There's a lot of other UYI songs that need to be played. "So Fine" in the place of the New Rose/Attitude would be great to here.

I assure you every time you mention the term nu gnr on this site...99 percent of us roll our eyes... nobody will give anything else you say half a chance after reading that for the 1000th time...

Just some friendly advice...

I love the setlist...

I couldn't ask for anything more...

I don't care for The Seeker...

but this is all so much fun... nitpicking the set list makes for great water cooler talk...but like So Fine said... they could play anything from the GNR catalogue... and I'd love it.

Still can't believe Slash is on that stage. When Axl said not in this life time... I truly believed him!

That's what I'm thinking as well... They might have close to the entire catalogue ready to go at any time.

It could be tough but not imposible. They have it on a list of songs. I guess they think it can be done at some point

Someone is a clear blind supporter of something that isn't happening anymore lol.

It isn't anything personal Gn'R has 2 different legacies. They just do. I use the term "Nu Gn'R" to let people know which era I'm talking about.

So hold the prejudice silly stuff and read what I say. Some of you get way too hung up on things. The term Nu Gn'R isn't a slang for "shitty band without Slash" as some of you think.

I liked CD. I've stated that several times. What is the problem? there's always someone.

Yeah if they're doing "Perfect Crime" which I do like, then you could assume that they've done almost all the UYI stuff. Including songs like "Breakdown", "Dead Horse" etc.

You don't get it... at all...

I have posted here on years that I don't consider CD a Guns N Roses record... I love the album... but if the songs were not crafted by Axl, Slash, Izzy and Duff... then it's something very different ... to me anyway...but nobody cares anymore... we truly have the best of both worlds now.

You come here on a daily basis and in every single post continue to reference Nu GNR and backhandedly knock it and that gets you no favors ... people roll their eyes at you every time you do it.

Nah, that is just your way of looking at it.

There is no backhandedness to anything. You're just trolling basically and trying to start a internet flame war. I don't really care what you think.

There's Gn'R 85-1996, then 97-14 (which I call Nu Gn'R) It isn't a tasteless term. It is just waht I call it, and to be honest I heard it from someone on here years and years ago... long before you joined in 2012  ok

So please leave me alone. I'm happy with the current band, Richard and Frank are great with Slash/Duff. It's going really well. You're grasping at straws.

If some of the recent nit-picking has taught me anything, it's that some people try reeeeaally hard not to have a good time.
