I seem to remember Axl made some pretty disparaging comments about the drum sound on the first albums. I guess he likes what Frank brings to the table. I've always thought Frank was great live. He's got more groove than Matt.

I'd like to see Steven do a stint.

Frank will do just fine give it a few shows. Already you can see how every show that goes buy they are getting tighter.

You're probably right, will take a bit of time adjusting working with different musicians. A lot of us find it hard to let go of the past. All in all everyone did brilliantly, all things considered

Frank is one of us. I don't see this concern.

People must be drum masters around here to notice Frank wasn't great or whatever. He sounds great to me, but I don't know much about drums. Did take up singing and piano for a few years though, and am a big fan of music.

I think however he's playing the songs, it's the way Axl and the band wants him to. He's been playing these songs for years, in my opinion if there was something wacky about his drumming Axl would have made him fix it or hire someone else years ago.

I also suspect that it is nostalgia and a longing to relive that nostalgia through Adler, and Frank's hypothetical hampering of the frution of that nostalgia that may cause some to underrate his playing.

Thinking back, Axl said the drums were the one thing he wished he could change about Appetite, if I remember correctly. So maybe he is making that change now through Frank on the live versions.

As for the songs being fast, I think that was a conscious decision made by the band. I could of course be wrong about all of this though, as I am just speculating.

That's what I think as well. You don't have these rehearsals for nothing. Well, of course, you can turn up to have only fun with your mates but then you can also have an objective to do something.

They are changing up songs, almost every song has new or different intro which leads to different drumming, and some nerds are freaking out.

^ Yup! They rehearsed, and they are some of the most gifted musicians around. I don't know drums well, but a guy playing every song way too fast 3 nights in a row on accident sounds like a rookie mistake, or at least a mistake made by someone that is a little rusty. These are some of the most high profile gigs in the world, not to mention historical and very impactful on the future of the band, and you can in all likelihood safely bet that these professionals did their homework.
