I never knew what Periscope was until last Friday when they played the Troubadour.. haha

What a genius invention
Haha really?

I always saw links for it in tweets and such, so I had heard of it. Never tried it.
It's definitely a neat app.

Kind of. But Bach and Axl together push each other.  Always a fan of Bach vocally.  Sounded great. Special thanks to Bach.

The new better intro is badass, and slash played the shit out of Chinese Democracy tonight. The band a ton of energy the entire show and they'll only get better as the tour goes on

You dig what i'm saying?

« Reply #366 on: April 10, 2016, 05:46:30 AM »

Just got back to my hotel room and I am just sitting here completely blown away by what I saw tonight.  I flew in this morning and avoided the internet the past 48 hours bc I didn't want to know anything about the show last night.  I wanted to experience this for myself.  I literally shed tears during "Estranged" and I wasn't the only one.  It's almost fitting that Axl is in the Grohl seat bc it's like they have come back to reclaim their throne after all these years.  Being here, seeing practically everyone in the crowd wearing Guns gear, hearing Slash and Duff play these songs like they never stopped....I am just speechless.

100% agree.  Slash was all in on the CD songs, playing them as if they were part of the classic catalog.

Sounded like gilbert gottfried singing my michelle!

I read some post mention something about "hey sebastian, want to roll a joint?" and heard axl had red eyes. good for them if that's true. marijuana is a wonderful thing. (please fill me in if theres more details about that. I cant get weed in Japan but reading about them smoking it just puts the biggest smile on my face.)

Nice to see they're switching it up at least a little bit !  Good that they were on earlier today as well.  Apparently it was an issue with the venue last night ?

Fuck Slash just killed it again on the TIL solo !  Finck/Ashba versions erased from the history books. Axl is so energized by it, it's so obvious.

Shame about the drums though, god it's awful...

Ok, so I'm not the only one who feels Frank is lost and not anywhere near the pocket on some of these songs?

People, we are about to hear Slash play the DC solo !  Take me back to 1991 !  I'm 10 years old all over again !  The summer I got into GNR.  Go for it maestro !
Same sound, same vibe... The first single I bought with my own money... Smiley

Shit! Same here-what a summer! Cassette single-still have it! Weird how we all had the same experience!

Yep, I don't like to knock the guy cos he is a great drummer but the drums aren't right in some songs. Adler and Sorum were better. I can't see him being dismissed but I wish he'd go back and listen to the original tracks. He may be putting his own slant on songs but people will hear the difference if Adler makes a guest appearance. One of the big things about Double Talking Jive is that drum beat. I thought it was just me but there's something missing there. Otherwise he's great, maybe I'm just nit picking. Sorry Frank

Frank will do just fine give it a few shows. Already you can see how every show that goes buy they are getting tighter.

You're probably right, will take a bit of time adjusting working with different musicians. A lot of us find it hard to let go of the past. All in all everyone did brilliantly, all things considered
