They definitely sounded better tonight. Axl's voice was strong all night. It was like he went in a time machine back to 1992.

10 years old yes.  I was born in 1981.  GNR was the first band I ever got into.  I saw the YCBM video and I've never looked back.  UYI II was the first album I ever bought with my own money.  My mother wouldn't let me go to Werchter '93 and I've never spoken to her since !  ... nah just kidding

hard to say, remember that at 2001-12-31 show there was still Paul Huge. Richard was around even BEFORE Buckethead joined (that is 1999), it seemed he'll join Paul Huge to replace Robin Finck (who left for NIN tour), but then Bucket appeared and they picked him instead of Richard. I'm not really sure they got back for Richard before 2002.
edit: so no, Richard auditioned for the 2nd time in April 2002.
