It's like they are recreating the UYI Tour... kickoff the show in a club where Axl injures his foot/leg and has to wear a cast... last time the big blue walking boot was prominently featured in videos.

Holy deja vu - this happened again? At the beginning of a tour, again? Just.....wow. Very Spinal Tap, if there is room for humor.

But to be obviously humorous: So we have no info on how this reunion came about (in any real detail, very quiet on that front), and only snippets of their first public performance together, but we get an x-ray of Axl's broken foot? The world of GnR operates in interesting ways. Hope Axl recovers quickly.  Smiley

AXL ROSE
I BROKE MY FOOT!!
Show Will Go On

Axl Rose broke his foot and underwent surgery, and he just announced it ... HOURS before Guns N' Roses officially kicks off their tour!
Axl posted an x-ray of his left foot and said, "This is what can happen when you do something you haven't done in nearly 23 years."
The real GNR is playing its first arena show in decades tonight and Saturday night in Las Vegas. We're told the injury happened when Axl slipped onstage while singing "Mr. Brownstone" during last Friday's Troubadour show. We're told Axl knew something was busted, but toughed it out. Rock 'N' roll.
He had surgery earlier this week, and got a bunch of hardware to repair the fracture. We're told he'll be in a cast for all the Vegas and Coachella shows, but don't expect him to be sitting the whole time. They're making some kinda support for him, and the setlist won't be shortened.
The band clearly knows this would freak out fans. They got Axl's doc to explain the injury and the surgery.

This can be spun into great press! It shows Axl's new found devotion to his fans. It shows his unwillingness to let them down. It shows his resilience. It clearly shows his determination and drive to find redemption and vindication. It shows his class, maturity, and professionalism.

Instead of an obstacle or chance for the media to blast Axl, this can become Axl's Kirk Gibson 1988 World Series Home Run moment. Kirk hit a two-run walk-off home run to win game 1 of the World Series.
Axl can exploit this moment for the betterment of his reputation. He can show his triumphant spirit and hit a home run tonight!

In fact, if you goes out there a sings his heart out with a broken foot--- well, the audience response could be legendary! I'm talking a 5-10 minute standing ovation. A way of Axl showing his love for his fans and their years of patience and loyalty.
If Axl plays his heart out on a broken foot --   this is the sort of thing that creates legends.

Damn. I hope he doesn't cancel anything. I don't think he will. Hell he could sit down and sing right boys?

I hope it doesn't take away from the show too. I mean normally he's pretty mobile and stuff. The vocals should be fine, and honestly this might be better for them? Interesting find. Thanks for sharing.

What a man though...finished the Troubadour set.   Shocked
This isn't the same moody, temperamental Axl the media have been hoping for. He's really up for this.  peace ok

wasn't it Dublin back in 2010 when he just stood still.. I remember street of dreams and better sounding unbelievable. Gonna watch them now, he was so pissed off but vocals were insane.
yes and in Dublin in 2012 he had hurt his leg in Russia at the show before it and I got to see a brilliant show and it made up for 2010. And Axl fucked up his foot before the UYI tour in 1991 and I don't think the shows suffered.

there are already too many fans outside the arena to cancel the concert .
And I don't think that we would have seen footage from the rehearsals. Because it's senseless to rehearse before a canceled concert?

I immediately thought of the UYI tour injury and the cool AXL high tops, too. Oddly, it feels sort of like good juju for the new tour. Still sorry he's gotta deal with it, though.

Maybe he took the "break a leg" way too serious.
