Say what you will, but his voice is just as bad as it's been for the last few years... maybe a tad better because he's sitting down...
You are literally the ONLY person I've seen/heard say that so far. You're entitled to your opinion obviously, but you seem to be in the extreme minority on this one.

Edit - after your post a few more people joined you. But still. I didn't catch the whole show. Decided to call it quits around 4am. I thought he sounded quite good though, even on that less than perfect stream.

For those who attended did Slash look like he was happy and enjoying himself? I'd love to hear a interview with the band to get a true sense of the current relationship they share.

Ugh, enough with all the psycho-analyses. They were together on a stage and none of them needs the money. Axl was laughing throughout both shows, and made plenty of remarks about Slash being there that were obviously positive. Next to that, Axl would never do this unless he wanted to do it. Slash has been very vocal about what he thinks of Axl in the past few years, all being positive. Let it go, this ain't Days of Our Lives

Set list amazing!  Coma, DTJ, Civil, and slash on Chinese songs... Axl voice probably best I've seen in his first shows of a tour... He usually even gets better.  Totally surreal!

Periscope hopped last night, but sortalurked here. My pc wasnt signed in (which is hooked up to my tv and home theater system), couldnt remember my pw,and my ipad was dead. Smiley

Up now and...rewatching the show with coffee.  I stuck with jp93 most of the night. Good sound and pic.

Coma....omfg....i literally teared up.

And slash on solo for this i love?

That set list is damn near perfect, for me. I woulda liked my michelle, but thats quibbling due to sentimental attachment.

They sounded fucking awesome. I. Can. Not. Wait. For. Met. Life!!!

The majority is saying Axl sounded good/really good. I think so.

Just a few people think his voice was a mess. They are wanting him to be 44 or 30 again or something. Not going to happen.

He's 54, and for 54 he sounded really good.

I think he  sounded amazing.

Some very small isdues in the mid range, in certain spots (this i love). I also saw lots of tissues in use at times? Little cold, maybe? Either way...its nitpicking, imho. Its people looking for shit to bitch about. Or people who think you are supposed to sound exactly like you do in the studio, live.

But listen to fucking Coma. Holy shit. That song is fucking hard. Super hard. Especially the end. He. Fucking. Nailed. It.

To anyone doubting the guys are doing it for the money and they're not friends anymore or that there was tension at the troubadour: the way Axl just introduced Slash says it all. Big smile on Axl's face

The intro is a throwback to the '88 Ritz show. But not sure if anyone knows the real origin of the line: it comes from John Carpenter's "The Thing", which makes the intro even cooler.

Lol did he just have a showgirl bring him something to drink? Or an oxygen tank?

I don't know if you noticed but...the young ladies who assisted him throughout the show? They were in naughty nurse outfits. :p

So in every video I've seen so far Slash has just utterly destroyed.  beer

At first in the TIL solo I kinda preferred Robins version, but then the second part of the solo kicked in and I shit my britches.

Great setlist. Axl sounded great! So did the band. Richard and Slash plays together very nicely.
In million years I would never believed to hear them play Coma again, so that's more than cool  ok

Agree. Just..omfg.

The til solo, the better solo, november rain, coma.....stuff he either hasnt played much live for 20 years, or has never played live.  Just..holy crap.

If they do this for a full stadium tour...ok, i'm gonna say it. You can all tell me i am nuts. That i am on a high from the show or whatever, but......they might revive rock and roll.  This show was, imho, that good.

Ok, let's put some of the negative aside. What did you guys think about Slash's take on This I Love? I feel we heard the solo he originally did in the 90s.. I dunno, but it had nothing in common to Robin's aside from the very first note.

I REALLY like it. Its not like the album...more bluesy, which you expect, but it totally fits.

If people bitch it doesnt spund like the album...they dont get it.

Absolutely incredible

As great as the setlist is, and as satisfying as it is to see the likes of "Coma," Double Talkin' Jive," and "Estranged," I hope they choose to throw in other UYI deep cuts throughout the tour, as well as "Don't Cry."

You could see how happy he was to "be back".

The whole band was ... They also sounded much "louder" than recent GNR shows or maybe that's just in my head. It was big and badass!
