Maybe I'll get it right next time

« on: April 03, 2016, 11:57:19 AM »

I was trying to get tickets to Toronto (Canada's only date).  I had a chance at 500 section which is basically the farthest away seats.  Then by the time it searched again everything was gone.  The only ticket available after a couple of minutes was the $1700 VIP pit selection (I believe still available today).  All other VIP and Presale seats are gone.

So stubhub or Ebay at 4times the value.....or hope for another date.

Saturday July 16th is the Toronto date.
Sunday July 17th would be an easy add before Gillette Stadium on the 19th...?

I remember back a month ago someone had posted rumoured dates on one of the threads and I am not sure about other areas but I seam to recall Toronto having two dates which were July 16&17.....did someone really know something back then?  Seams so.

Do you think they are announcing more dates?  Would it be after the regular public sale of current dates?

I poked around at some of the other locations and see that tickets are available.  the demand for Toronto was just too high.

footnote....DAMN that Trubador show looked amazing!

Toronto was insane. Everything is now sold out to Nighttrain members including all VIP options. I got A Floor seats but will upgrade when the next pre sales and / or general sales begin. I just can't wait to see Axl, Slash and Duff on stage together again. It's going to be an amazing, never to forget concert. Hope to catch Axl's mix at the end of the show... That would make my year... Cheesy

There are rumors that 2nd dates are on hold in some cities.

If there are, they probably won't be announced until the general sale for the current shows have started (and if sold-out).

I would be willing to bet that Toronto sells out in under 5 minutes (barring system issues and not including the $1700 Welcome to the pit VIP, all other VIPs I would include).

I have two unused Nightrain presale codes that are waiting for that second date....fingers crossed.

I had zero luck with Vegas dates though.....so maybe my internet connection just isn't up to par enough for me to have a chance.

There is a Citi pre-sale Monday if you have a Citibank card. That will open up another pool of tickets before the public sale. While a great opportunity the Nightrain Pre-sale is a really limited amount of tickets per section. You have two more chances...

I would think that with the spread of dates, there is the chance of adding a night to almost every show. Of course that isn't taking into consideration the breakdown, setup, and site to site transfer of the stage, but for example Gillette is Tuesday and MetLife is Saturday and you can drive from point A to point B in 4-5 hours.

Usually they'll have two or three yes.

So in that example, the stage would go from say Toronto to New York, and the Foxboro Stage would head to Atlanta, giving them 8 days to add a show.

1 Canada date would likely sell out fast.

But I have doubts if the US dates are going to sell out..I mean...there are some huge venues on the bill...do you think GNR 2016 can pack those?? Im sure South America they can sell out 60k stadiums easily but USA I dont know....

I think tickets will sell just fine.
It's not like all those other bands who play stadiums who do it every other summer. These guys haven't played together in over 20 years. That's a lot of people who never saw them, or last saw them 20+ years ago.
The whole "I saw them on their last tour" excuse seems less likely. But with bands like AC/DC, U2 and the Rolling Stones, you could say that.

Also, if you're doing this regrouping thing, it makes little sense to go and book arenas. Yes, the odds of selling out the shows are better, but then you're basically saying the whole tour is not all that special. Stadiums have something exclusive about them. Whether or not you like that kind of venues is another discussion thought. Smiley

That was my thought too.  I assume they can't announce that until after Cochella.

Because the stadium is across the river in New Jersey.

Hopefully the reunion lasts longer enough for them to do a European tour, I'd imagine it would be a stadium tour so that rules this year out ,however there are a lot of big indoor arenas so that may be an option for them later this year.

I hope they do; however, L.A. fans have spent a lot of money on the Vegas, Coachella, and San Diego shows. The Rose Bowl would be great.

What doesn't make sense with them having to announce LA after Coachella is Coachella is sold out... Sense the tickets have already sold I don't see the point.

Lol! East rutherford is JUST outside nyc. And both the ny giants and ny jets play there. It (met life) is considered the "new york" stadium.
