Here Today...

« on: March 30, 2016, 09:32:02 PM »

Update: This has now been confirmed by people waiting in line to purchase tickets at Tower Records.  They have been informed by people associated with the band that they are giving away 250 tickets, 1 ticket per person and no cell phones. The show will be at the Troubadour tonight and there will be some sort of pre-show event at Tower Records in Los Angeles.

GUNS N' ROSES is rumored to be playing an intimate warm-up show this coming Friday, April 1. If it happens, the concert will take place at one of the Los Angeles-area clubs where the band first played prior to the release of its iconic debut album, 1987's "Appetite For Destruction". More information is expected to be revealed by Friday morning, at which point a limited number of tickets will go on sale to the general public.

As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES will embark on a 21-city North American tour to follow the previously announced run of comeback shows. Exact dates and venue details have not yet been announced.

GUNS N' ROSES has six concerts scheduled so far, all in April: two at the Coachella Music And Arts Festival, two in Las Vegas and two in Mexico City.

The exact band lineup has yet to be confirmed beyond singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, although it is almost certain that keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer are on board as well.

Original members Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler didn't appear to be involved in the gigs, but Adler's solo band abruptly canceled a show at the Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles on April 1, with the venue tweeting, "Stay tuned for a big announcement! #GunsNRoses." There is now speculation about a guest appearance by Adler with GUNS.

The last show Axl and Slash played together was on July 17, 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. The latest incarnation of GUNS N' ROSES, which only included Axl from the original lineup, played a residency in Las Vegas in 2014 but has remained silent since.

According to Billboard, the GUNS reunion ? which sources say has been in the works for two years ? is asking for anywhere from $3 million to $5 million a show.[/b][/i][/i]

It would be awesome if this could be confirmed or denied by people who know.  Have to figure out if I need to take off work on Friday and buy a cross country flight ticket Smiley

The Whiskey re-tweeted the blabbermouth article.   Which is weird.

Certainly possible, but the fact that is it coincidentally April 1st doesn't help in terms of credibility

Although I understand the importance of a little warm up... I would be/will be, a little miffed at the thought of all the money I put forth to make it to their 1st show together in Vegas on the 8th.... and have it turn out to not be their 1st...

Oh well I guess

yeah I am sorta with you too, spent a boatload on Vegas and Coachella but I think the thought of waking up early this Saturday morning with videos of Axl and Slash jamming together makes it easier plus we will see the "full effect" with Vegas show. truly exiting times.

on one hand please no warm up! but on the other bring it!

It's really a 1st world problem to have.. It's really not that big of a deal.. It's a vaction of sorts with the wife so I can't complain. Don't want to sound like a whiny bitch lol

It's just, my wife and I were the couple to have Bumble help propose in Detroit... We then got married in Vegas on the last date of their 1st residency... Right after the wedding we got back to the Joint and met Tommy by the back bar! Got photos with him and everything!!!

Obviously, we've had a lot of luck with stuff working out for us.. But you can't ever have to much to brag bout when it comes to GNR!! peace

They did advertise and sell the Vegas shows as THE FIRST shows.  They didn't do that with Coachella or with Hammerstein.

On the other hand, I hope this isn't the Whiskey.  I looked into getting tickets weeks ago and they said pretty adamantly that Guns N Roses WILL NOT be playing.  I wasn't expecting them to say that they were, but to go out of their way to say they weren't (which caused me to not buy tickets) would be pretty lame.  Because if there were rumors, or if they were playing...they could have easily said they had no idea if they would come or not.  Something along those lines

Hahahahaha. Indeed.

And don't you sort of want this?  I'd rather they be totally on point from show 1 onwards.
