If I went to two shoes back to back in the same city I would love to hear a completely different setlist

But is that realistic?  I guess that's more where I'm coming from.

If you look at most stadium/arena big time bands, there just isn't that sort of nightly variety outside, say, a Pearl Jam.  Who have been doing that since they were a club band 25 years ago.

But you go see the Stones, U2, Coldplay...that sort of level of band, the setlist for that tour is pretty much the setlist.  Same with GNR.

For a big stadium show, the band gets a lot slack, because everything has to be timed perfectly.   However after the 5 big songs with all the sparks and flashes, you can sneak in a ton of other songs, that's why they have an alternative list and if they plan on doing back to back shows in the same city, that alternative list should of just been longer.....  After all I think the majority of people that go to the second show, have already gone to the first one.

I have seen the Stones play live twice back to back and they tossed in a ton of new material the second show  Stadium shows....

it can be done, I think its just very easy/safe to play 90% of the same music on back to back shows.

So to answer you.   Its very realistic to do.

Is it realistic to expect though.   Nope

Unfortunately GNR don't have nearly the catalog the Stones do. Nobody does though. The Stones could easily put together three completely different set lists that even average classic rock radio fans would like. Unfortunately Guns has been a much less productive band, which limits the amount of set list creativity they can get away with, in terms of the 'Pareto' segment of the audience.

Does Axl not use the center catwalk anymore? When he was getting back on his feet during the Europe dates he wasn't hesitating to walk out there, but I've been watching a lot of youtubes from the North American shows and he seems to avoid it now.

Well they have plenty of songs from albums they just do not play live   So even though there backlog of music isn't as large as other bands.  The music is still there

Then they play covers!  People say they play some of these covers because they were hits for the band and they have been playing them so long people expect them.  I call bs.  I think of the band played original gnr music more and steady for all the years.  Those songs would of become hits!   They just never gave some songs a chance

Man, what a show!  It's incredible that Axl can sing like that for the whole show.  He was awesome.  I also thought it was real cool of him that he didn't steal the spotlight, which he easily could have done as the frontman.  Instead, he hung back or was off to the side and let Angus take center stage.  If you guys are anywhere near an upcoming show, you got to go.  You will not be disappointed.

Axl Rose and AC/DC host tour-ending party at classic steakhouse

CONFIDENTIAL
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 6:00 PM
WITH BRIAN NIEMIETZ

Dirty deeds ? done medium well.

AC/DC, headed by Axl Rose, had an early wrap party for their Rock or Bust World Tour, which rolls through Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night before concluding in Philadelphia next week.

The site for Monday night?s shindig was an Axl Rose favorite ? the Meatpacking District?s legendary Old Homestead Steakhouse.

A source at the dinner bash says Axl sat alongside guitarist Angus Young and regaled guests with stories about how he used to stop at the restaurant after performing with Guns N? Roses and before hitting the area?s nightclubs.

According to Rose, who took over for AC/DC singer Brian Johnsonafter he withdrew from the band?s tour because of hearing problems, the area was ?rough and loaded with transvestites? when he first started partying there.

On Monday night, Rose?s ?party? included a single glass of wine. Young stuck to ginger ale.

?Axl said he doesn?t do alcohol anymore when he?s on tour because it?s not good for his voice,? says one insider.

As Rose was telling his stories, paparazzi and fans got word that rock royalty was in the house.

?The street outside the restaurant was lined with eight black Suburban SUVs,? says an insider, who tells us the restaurant had to call the police to help manage the growing crowd. ?There was a near riot when Axl and Angus Young emerged from the restaurant to get some air.?

When Rose and Young went back inside, meatery owner Greg Sherry was waiting for the singer with a 21/2-pound tomahawk ribeye steak.

?Axl had no trouble devouring every bite,? we?re told.

The other members of AC/DC were on hand, as were roughly 100 guests who were with the band. But Rose and Young hung out mostly with each other.

?Axl and Angus were hanging together the entire night,? we?re told. ?Axl was wearing a silver guitar (necklace) that was a gift from Angus.?

Hopefully Slash doesn?t get jealous.
