Axl sounded great. Wish he would sound that good at the GNR shows too.

During the GN'R U.S. Tour get ready to deal with people who will be complaning that Axl sounded better with AC/DC. Others will be complaning that Slash can't play CD songs and yet another group of people will be complaning because Izzy and Adler are not part of the reunion.

You are right! My bad I forgot the group who will complain about the set list and the group who will be moaning about a new album

Would we not want him to sound like he sounded the other night?  He sounded incredible.  Obviously, you want the best version of him you can get.

If it happens, great.  Hope it does.  But if it doesn't translate exactly, hey, whatever.

But you can say what's what, can't you?  Where is that out of bounds?

There is always room for improvement in all areas. Just don't  sound like a broken record 24/7 with whatever issue you may have

AC/DC songs are much easier to sing. the vocals are all one dimensional.

but Axl sounded incredible in Vegas. incredible at Coachella. and incredible with ACDC.

there's always gonna be negative opinions shared on these boards, but these days, those negative opinions are the minority.

it's the year of Axl. and everything he does right now is gold.

I thought Axl sounded great during the 7 GN'R shows, but man, he took it to another level with AC/DC. Needless to say, I can't wait to see where this collaboration goes from here. I was watching the Rock or Bust performance from Lisbon, and my wife heard the singer and just assumed it was Brian Johnson. Personally, I hope we get at least one studio album from this version of AC/DC. I always preferred Chris Slade as the drummer, and with Axl now in the mix, the sky's the limit!

Axl did sound amazing with GNR.  He also sounded amazing with AC/DC.  I agree that the AC/DC songs are all one dimensional.  I also do hope to hear him deliver YCBM and a few others with the power he showed with AC/DC, but I certainly cannot complain about anything Axl is doing.

I do not lose sleep over how popular Axl is in the world, but I certainly am enjoying seeing him on top again.  We have waited a long time for this!  GHo Axl, Go Slash, Go Duff, Go AC/DC....

It is all heavenly!  A dream come true!

Seems possible given the BBC audio of Angus and Axl that I heard on YouTube.  Not sure how AC/DC diehards would feel, but I'd buy it.  It may be posted elsewhere here, but here is the link again:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9nfC-YR9B4

I said the same thing to a buddy yesterday about YCBM.

I think Axl has sounded really good those first 5 GNR shows.  But the other night, he sounded great.  It would be amazing if he could retain some of that rasp and snarl on songs like YCBM.

I just wonder if he's murdering his voice.  I think the conventional wisdom was that he couldn't sing that like that full time because it's a bitch on his vocal chords.  I'm curious if perhaps he sees this as a once in a lifetime gig with one of this favorite bands growing up.  So for 12 shows, fuck it, let it rip.

Does anyone else notice the "Axl" chant (around the 40 sec mark) before the show starts...that's pretty cool.  peace
