As I said earlier...can you imagine when Axl is up and mobile with Angus...holy hell. He is going to come in to the Gnr tour loaded to bare...then the ATL will get a second show with AC/DC shortly thereafter. I have never seen AC/DC and was in high school during the Back in Black years. It will be a pretty convenient time to see my first Axl/DC show. beer

Another positive review! This time from The Telegraph. The Telegraph, like The Guardian, hasn't been kind to Axl and GNR over the years.

He sounded great but, like with GNR, I doubt his voice will be able to stay this good through the tour. He's really belting it out to match Brian Johnson's style.

Oh, and AC/DC have released proshot videos of Rock or Bust and Shoot to Thrill for many shows on this tour, but only those songs. Don't expect any more, sorry.

Axl was killer and I disagree with people thinking his voice will be worn down I think it will actually be stronger as he goes. this is 2016 the year of Axl and he is taking this very seriously

As johnreed3344 pointed out, Axl's voice has always tended to get stronger as he goes.

Nothing would thrill me more than if Axl came loaded to bare but I'm guessing you meant loaded for bear.  Wink

Anyone know if any of the tour merch incorporated Axl being in the band??

No, there was not any merchandise regarding Axl. I got to the merchandise stand, hoping for it, but no. I still bought an ACDC shirt hehe  Wink

Even though I don't agree with virtually anything you say, I will say this. The AC/DC thing obviously made him hungry...and not for a cheeseburger. You better get your ticket to Guns because these ten dates are gonna have him primed.

Too bad his own 'reunion' shows didn't make him hungry ...
WTF are you talkiing about? I was at the 2 Vegas shows and they were totally awesome. Plus the guy had surgery just a week before the shows. I havent had the chance to watch the whole AC/DC show yet but I can see that Axl totally nailed it. Back in Black was fucking phenomenal. No need to diminish his performances in GNR. rant

Vegas was awesome, his voice wasn't. Yesterday is the first time he's sounded awesome since late '94 when he recorded SFTD.

I simply disagree.  I thought Axl sounded phenomenal in Vegas

Let's agree to disagree.  Let's ignore the Coachella November Rain feed.

Back on topic ?
Funny, lets ignore the whole year of 2006 then. I personally believe 2006 was the best year Axl has EVER had live. He had never had so much control  of his voice before that.  And Im not going by youtube videos. I saw them live in 2006 and I was very much concerned that his voice would be shit, but he proved me wrong, just like he is proving everybody wrong with this first ACDC concert. That's why Im not surprised he can still sing like he does.

Yes please. Let's ignore 2006. Let's ignore '01-'14 for that matter. Let's pretend Axl has been singing great for all of that time.

I saw him live 9 times. I saw him live in '02, '06, '10 and '12. His voice sucked everytime. When you're there you shrug and make the most of it, but if you listen to shows now from any of those years, you cringe...
..

It's weird you thought something sucked 8 times and still decided to buy a ticket for a 9th.  I figured with a name like Nikki Sixx you would be into shitty lead vocalists, considering that's what he's worked with for the better part of 4 decades.  I saw the band a bunch of times in that 02-14 time span and always thought they were great.  Whatever, lets go back to you critiquing the 2016 shows you saw on You Tube.  How many of those did you go to again?

If he had sounded at all like he did yesterday for all of the hired hands years, maybe we wouldn't be talking about this still. Think about that for a moment, before you declare 2006 the pinnacle of his singing career.

There's a reason the term 'Mickey' was coined...

You must be pretty thick to keep buying tickets to someone you consider sucks everytime.

Please let Axl know how much the fans truly appreciate what Axl is giving us right now.  To see him pushing through the adversity he's faced and pushing himself to do more and work harder. its a great testament to the man.  I must get tickets when you swing over to MSG!!

Do please ensure that Axl doesn't push his voice too hard so he keeps up the momentum  ok

Nikki is doing what he always does.  Roll Eyes

Anyways, didnt see it here, sorry if I oversaw it - another proshot, tho in a not so good video quality. This time, Rock or Bust:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwQYzZZ_O3w

that proshot stuff is unreal. i wish i could buy it on dvd.

as far as nikki goes... guns songs incorporate such a broader range than acdc songs. of course he can sing acdc stuff with more power.

he sounds great so far for the reunion. ill refrain from making fun of motley crue because it's not relevant and too easy.

YouTube ? There are several decent audio recordings from early April (Limulus/RockPhantom) to prove my point!

And if those aren't obvious enough, try the Coachella pro shot feed, November Rain in particular. 'O1-'14 all over again...

Why did I keep buying tickets ? It was the closest we'd get to a real GNR show. Axl on a bad vocal day still puts on a better show than many other touring acts...

You have no "point".

The Vegas shows in April sounded phenomenal, but I was actually there and not watching on You Tube.

Coachella was excellent as well.

And FYI, from 01-2014, or better yet- from 1985-2016 it has always been "real" GNR.

Fact.
